The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Friday, September 4, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will visit with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) at the Grand Phoenix. Phillis will suggest that she’s working on something big, but she won’t tell Nick what it’s all about.
From there, Nick will head to the park, where he’ll talk with Noah Newman (Robert Adamson). Noah will tell Nick that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) stopped by to see Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), and they’ll discuss how they don’t want Adam anywhere near Sharon.
Noah will want to stay home and protect his mom from Adam, but Nick will say that Noah needs to go on living his life – that’s what Sharon wants.
Noah and Nick will also talk about Nick’s relationship with Phyllis, and Noah will think that Nick should keep his guard up, since he and Phyllis can get pretty crazy.
Meanwhile, over at Society, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) will be dining when Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) walks in and sits down in the lounge area.
Chance will decide to take a direct approach, and he’ll walk up to Alyssa. Alyssa will ask about the missing guy in Vegas, and Chance will say that he hasn’t given her the full story, and that the man is involved in an ongoing federal investigation and that he can’t comment on it. Abby will watch from the bar, worried.
Soon, Phyllis will walk in and notice Abby watching Chance and Alyssa. Phyllis will ask Abby what’s going on, and Abby will lie and say that the woman Chance is talking to is a former security client of Chance’s. Chance and Alyssa will continue talking, and Chance will wonder what a Kansas reporter is doing writing a story about something that happened in Vegas.
Alyssa will say that she couldn’t help but to wonder what Adam has been doing all these years, and it turns out he’s been doing a lot. Chance will say that he’s told Alyssa everything he knows, and he’ll wish her luck, then Chance will walk away and text Adam a message saying “Where are you? We need to meet.”
Chance will regroup with Abby, saying that Alyssa is tenacious and won’t give up. Phyllis will watch from afar, eyeballing Alyssa.
Over at Chancellor Communications, Amanda Sinclair (Michael Morgan) will tell Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) that it was inappropriate of Billy to question Nate Hastings’ (Sean Dominic) motivations regarding her DNA test.
Amanda will tell Billy that things between them need to stay professional, just as Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) walks in.
Amanda will go, and Billy and Lily will talk about what Lily just walked in on. Billy will say that he and Amanda had a disagreement but cleared it up. Billy will joke with Lily that he’ll get on a dating app to prove that things are over between him and Amanda, and he’ll even fill out part of the online questions for the app.
Lily and Billy will talk relationships a bit, and Lily will divulge that her relationship with the guy upstate was short-lived. Billy will say that he’s not interested in any relationships right now, and Lily won’t believe him.
At Crimson Lights, Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will be looking at a photo of himself and Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) when Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) comes in.
Devon will show Elena what he was looking at, and Elena will understand. Devon will then ask Elena for advice regarding Amanda’s request for a DNA sample of Hilary’s, and it will be overwhelming for Elena.
Ultimately, Elena will say that Devon needs to look in his heart and do what he feels is best – she won’t think that she should weigh in with her opinion on something like this.
But Elena will urge Devon to take time to process the request, and Devon and Elena will pledge their love for each other. After Devon steps away, Elena will gaze at the photo of Devon and Hilary.
At the Grand Phoenix, Nate will stop by Amanda’s room, and Amanda will give Nate her DNA test swab. Amanda will be about ready to leave for a few days of vacation, and Nate will want to say goodbye.
Nate will ask about how Devon took Amanda’s request for Hilary’s DNA, and Amanda will say that it hit Devon hard. Nate will think it’s his fault, and he’ll recall Devon’s grief after Hilary died.
Amanda will then learn that it wasn’t just Hilary who died, but Devon and Hilary’s unborn child as well. Nate will explain about Devon marrying Hilary on her deathbed and watching her slip away.
Amanda will feel horrible, but Nate will say that this is on him. Amanda will tell Nate about her birthday being a day apart from Hilary’s, and Nate will feel pretty certain that there’s a relationship there. Ultimately, Amanda will take off for her vacation wondering what Devon’s answer will be.
