The Young and the Restless spoilers recap for Monday, November 9, tease that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will be in for a big surprise when she meets Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) at Chancellor Park.
Chance will have flowers and balloons waiting, and he’ll promptly get down on one knee and propose marriage. Abby will be thrilled, and she’ll ask Chance to stand up so they can break tradition and tell him what’s in her heart.
Abby will gush about how she loves Chance and how they’ll be equal partners in every way, and after she happily has the ring on her finger, she and Chance will talk about what they’ll eventually tell their kids about this day.
Abby will say that everything about it was perfect, and just then Chance will get a text from his associate who’s trailing Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Abby and Chance will decide to head to the Grand Phoenix to celebrate.
Meanwhile, at Newman Enterprises, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will be gathered at Newman Enterprises for Adam’s intervention.
Nick will get a call from Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) about Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and he’ll take off to meet Sharon at Crimson Lights.
Over at Adam’s penthouse, Adam will have an app on his phone that triggers some sort of device over at the Newman CEO office. Adam will get a text from an associate saying, “She’s gone. Somehow she escaped. What now?” Adam will rush out of the penthouse.
At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will drop by to check in on her brother and to run a music streaming collaboration project by him.
Lily will press for details about Devon’s relationship with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan), and Devon will turn the tables on Lily by asking her about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), which will make Lily blush.
At the hospital, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) will overhear Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) talking with another doctor about his hand. The doctor will say that he’s referring Nate to a great physical therapist. Nate won’t be interested in Elena’s concern and well-wishes afterwards.
Nate and Elena will talk later at Crimson Lights, where Elena will ask what the doctor had to say about Nate’s hand. Nate will say that the biggest, most important part of him is dead, and that the person responsible is Devon.
Elena will try to argue that Nate will still be a doctor no matter what, but Devon won’t be interested in Elena’s positive spin.
Ultimately, Nate will accuse Elena of being in denial over her feelings for him, and he’ll wish her luck as he’s walking away. Elena will ask if Nate’s leaving the hospital, and Nate will say that he’s leaving Genoa City, since there’s nothing to keep him there. Elena will look stunned.
Inside Crimson Lights, Sharon and Nick will talk, and Sharon will tell Nick all about how Faith blasted Adam earlier. Nick will ask where Faith is now, and Sharon will say that she’s with her friend Jordan (Madison Thompson).
Nick will be proud of Faith for standing up to Adam, and he’ll tell Sharon that they raised Faith well.
At the Grand Phoenix, Chance and Abby will gush about their engagement after making love. Abby will say that they’ll find the perfect time to tell everyone about their happy news. As Abby goes, Chance will get a call from his associate who’s watching Adam with news that Adam left the penthouse. Chance will rush to leave the hotel room.
Back at Newman Enterprises, Abby will arrive, putting her engagement ring in her purse for the time being. Adam will won’t have shown up, and Victor will try to tell everyone that he doesn’t want any negativity when Adam gets there.
Nick will arrive and tell everyone the story about Faith telling Adam off. Everyone will be proud of Faith.
Victor will call Adam, who won’t answer, and Abby won’t be able to get hold of Chance, either. Everyone will wonder whether Adam’s going to show, and Victoria will bluster about how Adam won’t change and it’s time for Victor to give up on him. Victor will grump that no one tells him to give up on one of his children.
In the room where Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) was being held, Adam will show up, followed shortly by Chance. Chance will quiz Adam about who was held there and where Chelsea is, but Adam won’t spill any details.
Adam will walk outside, and he and Chance will continue to argue. As it will turn out, the property will be a place that Adam owns.
Adam will get a text from someone saying, “Victor is still at the location,” and then Adam will be about to press a button on his app. Chance, who will be standing by, will look up and see a gun pointed at Adam.
Chance will instinctively rush over and push Adam down. “Adam, watch out!” Chance will yell, as a shot rings out.
