The Young and the Restless Spoilers Review: Friday, November 20 – Elena Wants a Nate Date - Adam Court-Ordered Mental Evaluation

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Friday, November 20, reveals that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has a bombshell in store for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Adam insists he’s leaving Genoa City with Chelsea to live a peaceful life closer to Connor Newman (Judah Mackey).

He doesn’t need Victor’s guidance or his name, but Victor maintains that Adam needs help.

Although Victor wants Adam to live that peaceful life he’s hoping for one day, he feels intense therapy is needed first. Victor argues that the decision is now out of Adam’s hands. He shows off a court order compelling Adam to undergo a serious mental evaluation at a facility with excellent staff.

Adam realizes Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) signed off on this and demands to know what Victor did to make her go along with it. Meanwhile, Sharon tells Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) that Adam needs a lot more than outpatient care.

She reveals that Victor wanted her to support his petition to have Adam involuntarily committed due to his recent deadly plot.

On Friday’s Young and the Restless episode, Sharon feels certain that Adam is never going to forgive her for this. Once Sharon learns the petition’s been approved, she insists on going over to Adam’s penthouse to be there for him.

Back with Adam, he rants at Victor for involving Sharon, but Victor makes it clear that Sharon felt it was for the best.

When Adam tries to leave, a burly officer stands in his way. As Adam reels, he wonders if Victor intends to lock him away and pretend he never existed. Adam doesn’t want to be stuck in a padded room for the rest of his life, but Victor assures his son this is a temporary situation.

Once Sharon arrives, Victor leaves them alone to talk. Adam wants to know if Victor threatened Sharon to make her go along with this. Sharon contends that she’s truly concerned about Adam.

She brings up how Adam looked Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) in the eye and hoped for forgiveness – all while plotting an attack against Victor and his family.

Sharon reminds Adam that he said he was on the verge of doing something unforgivable. Adam feels like he confided something in Sharon that’s now being used against him.

Sharon notes that Adam’s new doctors will be far more qualified. She insists that if she’s wrong, Adam will be evaluated and released without in-patient care – though she doesn’t think she’s wrong…

Adam reflects on how he brought a doctor to Sharon after she burned down the ranch. “I got you the help that you needed. I didn’t lock you up like some kind of animal,” Adam protests. Sharon argues that it’s not like that; this is a comfortable facility where Adam can get the help he needs.

Adam can’t accept this and wants Sharon to call up the judge. He pleads with Sharon to say that she saw Adam, spent some time with him and realized she made a mistake. “If I ever meant anything to you, Sharon, fix this, fix this… OK? Save me,” Adam begs. Sharon can’t – and she thinks Adam knows that.

Outside the penthouse, Rey arrives and is fearful about Sharon being alone with Adam. He checks in with Victor briefly and reluctantly leaves since there’s an officer there to make sure everything goes smoothly.

Back inside, Adam feels like Sharon is letting Victor use her as a pawn again. He feels like Victor failed as a father and now he’s paying for his dad’s mistakes. Victor returns and tells Adam it’s time to go. Sharon encourages Adam to stay calm, but he ends up trying to make a run for it.

There’s a struggle with the guards before Adam ends up sedated in his room at the facility. Adam is groggy and tries the door, but it’s locked.

At the Chancellor mansion, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is apologetic following her recent argument with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan). Chloe hates fighting with Chelsea – and Chelsea feels the same way.

Nevertheless, Chloe and Chelsea just wind up fighting all over again since they just don’t agree on the topic of Adam. Chloe can’t get on board with Chelsea going back to the man who had her drugged and kidnapped! If Chelsea goes down this road again and reconciles with Adam, Chloe insists their friendship is over.

Chelsea is taken aback over Chloe’s news, but she has to put her family first. If the price she pays is losing her friendship with Chloe, then so be it. Chelsea mentions leaving Genoa City eventually, but she books a room at The Grand Phoenix for now.

Chloe warns she can’t protect Chelsea anymore if she walks out that door, but Chelsea does it anyway.

Later, Chelsea shows up at Adam’s place, but he’s already been hauled away. Chelsea obviously doesn’t have updates on the whole situation yet, so she texts Adam wondering where he is. She’s ready to talk some more.

At home, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) dreams about Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) letting her know there’s no need for apologies anymore. It’s all in the past. Elena gets cozy with Devon under a blanket, but Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) appears and freaks Elena out.

There’s another dream where Nate crashes Devon and Elena’s romantic dinner – pushing Elena to be honest with herself.

When Elena wakes up, she looks unsettled. Elena ultimately fills Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) in on her dreams and gets some advice. Lola feels like what happened between Elena and Nate was more than just a one-time deal. She feels like Elena’s subconscious is telling her that being with Nate isn’t a mistake.

Elena still feels like she made a selfish, impulsive decision, but Lola points out that maybe it wasn’t an impulsive thing. Although Lola thinks Devon is a great guy, so is Nate.

Lola suggests that Elena might battle regrets if she keeps pushing Nate away. Once Elena heads down to the coffeehouse, Lola picks up her phone and looks thoughtful.

At Society, Devon runs into Nate, who admits he may not be able to operate again. They acknowledge that apologies won’t make this go away. Devon feels like Nate took the first swing by sleeping with Elena, but Nate argues that he didn’t attack him.

Nate admits his betrayal with Elena never should’ve happened, but it did. He stops himself from saying more, but Devon gets pushy about Nate’s feelings for Elena.

Nate contends that Elena doesn’t have feelings for him and that it was just one night. Devon remains irate, but he cuts this confrontation short and leaves.

That’s when Nate spots a text on his phone and heads to Crimson Lights – just as Lola planned. On Friday’s Y&R episode, Elena alludes to being confused after Nate joins her on the patio. She isn’t certain about where she wants this to go, but she wouldn’t say no if Nate asked her out.

Rey pays Lola a visit to unload about the Newman drama and how Adam sees people. When it comes to Adam, you’re either someone he can use or an enemy. Rey fears that Sharon has become an enemy to Adam now.

Once Rey reconvenes with Sharon, she’s grateful since he heard about him coming to the penthouse and then leaving. Sharon appreciates Rey checking on her and adds that she’s done all she can for Adam. His care is now in the hands of his doctors.
