The Young and the Restless Spoilers Review: Wednesday, October 28 – Adam’s Explosives & Knife – Kyle & Lola Strip Down – Fantasy Horrors

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers review for Wednesday, October 28, teases that fantasies take center stage for several Genoa City residents. At Crimson Lights, Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) imagines a glowing version of Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), who insists he’s there because he wants her back.

Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) jolts Elena from her daydream by asking if Elena needs a coffee refill. Elena doesn’t, but she could use some advice. She asks Mariah how you get someone to forgive the worst kind of betrayal.

After Mariah takes a work break and joins Elena up in the apartment, she’s struggling to get past the shock of Elena cheating with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).

Mariah feels like Devon must be devastated and suggests Elena can’t blame Devon for asking her to move out – and Elena doesn’t.

Elena was hoping Mariah would be there for Devon since he obviously won’t talk to Elena, but Mariah feels like Devon probably needs space. As Elena shifts gears, she suggests she was also hoping Mariah might understand the situation from both sides.

Mariah admits she does since she cheated on Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and gets how insecurities can lead to you to make the worst decision of your life. Elena points out that Mariah didn’t give Tessa space; she found Tessa on tour and fought for her.

Mariah feels like she got lucky after taking a huge risk that could’ve backfired in her face.

Elena thinks maybe she should take the same risk even if it’s a losing battle, but Mariah doesn’t feel like here’s a “one size fits all” solution. Situations and people are different. Mariah does think Devon has the capacity to forgive, but she notes that she didn’t cheat on Tessa with her cousin.

Elena gets that her circumstances aren’t the same, but Mariah insists she’s not trying to make Elena feel worse. She just feels like the wound might be harder to heal because it involves family.

Elena hopes Devon and Nate can find a way past what happened – even if she can’t move forward with Devon. Mariah doesn’t believe forgiveness is impossible, but she doesn’t think this can be fixed with an apology.

Over with Summer Newman (Hunter King), she imagines celebrating her one-year anniversary with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). In Summer’s fantasy, she wonders how she ever could’ve doubted their relationship.

Once Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) pops up in reality, Summer offers to resign if Jack thinks that’d be best. She’s sorry about Dina Mergeron’s (Marla Adams) passing and notes that Dina was an inspiration to her. Jack wants Summer to drop all this resigning talk if Dina was really such an inspiration. He also makes it clear that he still has faith in Summer and Kyle as a couple.

Afterward, Summer peers through the window of Society, where Kyle’s at a table. Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is behind the bar when the lights lower. Once Lola approaches Kyle, they strip their clothes off as a steamy song plays.

Summer looks horrified, but she snaps out of fantasy mode and sees that Kyle’s mostly focused on work – though he does look up at Lola as she goes in the kitchen.

Kyle winds up talking to Jack back at Jabot later. He feels confident he can keep working with Summer and put the company first. Kyle isn’t so sure about a future with Summer though.

Summer sees something between Kyle and Lola that doesn’t exist. Since Kyle trusts Summer, he doesn’t understand why she doesn’t trust him, too.

When Summer appears at Crimson Lights, Mariah takes the opportunity to berate the runaway bride. Summer wants Mariah to butt out, but Mariah calls her an entitled brat.

“You only wanted Kyle when he was with Lola, and then when you got him, that wasn’t enough,” Mariah says, throwing her hands up in a disgusted shrug.

Summer argues that Mariah has no idea what’s going on, but Mariah does feel like she knows how it’ll end up. Summer will end up with nothing and Kyle will be free according to Mariah. “So I guess it’s a win-win,” Mariah says before sauntering off.

Suddenly, Summer imagines herself in the park while voices from various GC residents talk about how selfish, crazy and unlovable she is. She jolts back to reality at Crimson Lights, where Kyle appears. Summer admits all the confusion and doubts she’s struggling with.

Kyle just wishes Summer had come clean about all this in Chicago. Their history is a factor for Kyle as well – and he’s not sure he can bring himself to be rejected by Summer again.

At Devon’s penthouse, Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) shows up to discuss the scholarship students, but mainly she wants to see how Devon’s doing. Amanda also reflects on the info her private investigator came up with.

The one thing that really sticks with Amanda is how Nadine from Rose Turner’s apartment building never saw her pregnant before she had a baby.

Devon suspects Rose wasn’t Amanda and Hilary Curtis Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan) biological mother. Amanda notes that Nadine had to teach Rose how to handle a baby.

Devon remembers Hilary being broken up about Rose’s death, so Amanda points out she hasn’t experienced that same kind of love or loss.

Elena sees Nate in the park and imagines him saying that it wasn’t a mistake – that she felt it, too. Nate tries to talk to Elena back in reality, but she scampers off before he can. There’s another fantasy situation involving the clinic, but Elena’s adamant that it’s not Nate that she wants.

Once Elena returns to the coffeehouse, Amanda pops up and wonders if she’s all right. Elena insists she’s not the victim and doesn’t deserve Amanda’s pity. Amanda argues that she doesn’t pity Elena, but she’s sorry and takes some of the blame due to the twin revelation.

Elena maintains that this is on her, not Amanda. After Elena argues that she wants Devon back and intends to fight for him, Amanda admits she does pity Elena if that’s the case. She doesn’t think Elena has any idea what she really wants.

Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) has some fantasies of her own on Wednesday’s Y&R episode, including one where she’s in bed and Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) has some fun with her in a cop uniform. Later, Abby has another daydream where she’s fretting over Chance and wondering where he is.

On Wednesday’s Young and the Restless episode, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) sits down to meet with Chance and decides he’ll get right down to business. Chance scores the detective position, though there’ll be a probationary period. The news thrills Chance, who’s excited to start right away.

After Lola talks to Abby about the dangerous life of a detective, Abby fantasizes about a deadly birthday party for Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

In this daydream, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has booby-trapped Society with enough explosives to get the party started with a bang and make Newman confetti. Adam also ends up running after Chance with a knife, so Abby jolts back to reality in horror.

Once Abby sets up a picnic in the park, she considers texting Chance about not accepting the detective position. However, Abby decides that’d be a mistake and deletes it.

Soon, Chance happily shows off his new badge. Abby is pleased for Chance and loves his updates about doing a ton of dull desk work.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby’s worst nightmare could come true down the road. Chance can’t avoid danger as a detective on a soap, so Y&R fans won’t want to miss what’s in store!
