The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) firmly believes that it’s best to marry Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). That’s why she plans to complete the ceremony that will take place on New Year’s Eve.
The now involuntarily committed Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) heard Sharon say that she would never love anyone the way she loved him, meaning Grossman’s character. So, regardless of Adam’s current plight, it’s fair for Shey fans to wonder if the couple they support will actually make it to the altar?

Rey was transfixed by Sharon from the moment he first saw her inside Crimson Lights. She noticed his gaze, but didn’t immediately fall in love.
Vilasuso’s character was married when he first became aware of Sharon. But his official relationship with her didn’t begin until he and Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) divorced.
Adam has been seen as the threat to Shey remaining together, or getting married. But Sharon made a decision when accepting Rey’s engagement ring, believing that becoming his wife will permanently blunt a Shadam revival.

Sharon has been linked to Adam for many years. Longtime fans recall that Case and Michael Muhney (Adam) teamed to create what was one of Y&R’s most dynamic, though fleeting, couples in the early 2010’s.
Muhney’s edition of Adam is the one who stole Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) from Sharon when she was born. He gave her to Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) as part of a misguided attempt at repairing the wrong Adam did to Davidson’s character.
However, Adam is also the person who was responsible for Sharon receiving needed mental health treatment, which led to her being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sharon Newman Tied To The Past
Sharon will never fully cut her tie to Adam. She can’t, based on his historical importance and the portion of her heart that he still occupies.
Going along with Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) request allowed Adam to be involuntarily committed to a mental health facility. Sharon will not divorce herself from his status updates, or continued involvement in his recovery.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) now becomes Adam’s defender and the cause of drama with Sharon. The depth and extent of Adam’s recovery process and resulting consequences could surely endanger Shey’s plans, or derail them entirely.
