The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) are going to need some drama to tackle when new episodes return. Y&R fans know Kyle and Summer feel like this is finally their time to be happy. Summer and Kyle are on the same page about their feelings for each other, so there’s nothing standing in their way.
Of course, The Young and the Restless will have to change that eventually. Kyle and Summer can’t just be content, successful people who live happily ever after. We’ve been seeing total bliss for a while now, so Y&R will have to shake it up soon.
Kyle and Summer both work at Jabot, so that gives them extra bonding time and allows them to complete projects together. Summer and Kyle’s teamwork is often something the show plays up. Having Summer on the job with Kyle undoubtedly helped him see that it was Summer he wanted all along, not Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle).
Since work has been such a huge part of Kyle and Summer’s relationship, maybe Y&R should yank that away and see how they handle it. They also have a chance to make Summer feel like more of a Newman again.
All The Young and the Restless has to do is let Summer go work for Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle). Should Summer turn in her Jabot resignation and accept a job at Newman Enterprises?
It’s easy to imagine Victoria seeing some of Summer’s latest projects and calling her up to make a pitch. Kyle feels like Summer’s his secret weapon, but Victoria might think she could steal that secret weapon for Newman. Victoria could play up the family loyalty angle and convince Summer that she shouldn’t be working for the enemy.
Y&R viewers will recall how Summer was the only Newman left in the dark on Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) faked death plot, which was meant to fool Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Summer was hurt and felt like an outsider, so part of her might like the idea of feeling included again.
If Summer wants to be treated like a Newman, she has to act like one. Instead, Summer’s busy acting like an honorary Abbott, so here’s her opportunity to change. This could cause some issues with Kyle, who’d feel betrayed on some level.
Even so, Summer and Kyle might tell themselves they could support each other as a couple and still work at rival companies. Unfortunately, that might be tougher than expected! Would you like to see Summer ditch Jabot for Newman Enterprises? Could work drama be Kyle and Summer’s next obstacle?
