The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King) are looking forward to their future. They know they’ll face more backlash for how all this went down, but they’re focused on the love they share.
It’s a “Skyle” against the world mentality. They’re just relieved that they’re both finally on the same page about what they want.
Of course, these storyline updates have divided Y&R fans. Some viewers were bored with the Kyle and Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) pairing, so they don’t mind the change – especially since there’s so much history between Kyle and Summer.
Others feel like The Young and the Restless stomped all over “Kola’s” love story purely for drama’s sake. Loyal Kyle and Lola fans are still furious over losing their favorite couple.
No matter which side you fall on, Y&R writers are making Kyle and Summer the star-crossed lovers. They’re turning them into the couple to root for, but there are sure to be more obstacles.
Angst is the norm on soaps, so it’s probably just around the corner for Summer and Kyle. Whether that comes in the form of Lola pregnancy news or something else, there’ll surely be some stumbling blocks along the way.
Kyle and Summer have established that they’re ready for the bumpy road ahead. Do you think they’re right? Do they have what it takes to conquer the challenges they’ll inevitably face?
Time will tell, but it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out. All the Summer and Kyle fans out there are hoping for another “Skyle” wedding – a real one this time!
The Young and the Restless viewers will recall that Kyle and Summer’s last wedding wasn’t exactly romantic. It consisted of a rushed ceremony at the GCAC, where Kyle was forced to marry Summer so she’d give up part of her liver for Lola.
In hindsight, Kyle feels he was always in denial about his feelings for Summer. Still, that wedding’s a bit tainted due to the whole liver deal.
Will Summer and Kyle eventually make it to the altar again? Will Y&R give them a genuine celebration of lasting love? It’s too early to say since Kyle still has to get divorced from Lola and will hopefully pump the brakes on another marriage.
Kyle doesn’t need to go rushing into that major step! He’s made that mistake too many times already.
However, there’s certainly a chance Kyle and Summer will get a blissful wedding day some point. They just have to survive the storm that’s brewing first!
