The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for the week of January 13-17 tease that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will face quite a battle. Y&R’s weekly preview video focuses on Sharon’s current medical crisis. She’ll take the next steps and get the difficult news that she indeed has breast cancer.
After the biopsy confirms Sharon’s fears, she’ll open up to Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). Sharon will think she needs to trust Rey with this shocker first. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Rey will do his best to stay strong for Sharon. He’ll promise to remain right by her side, so Sharon will appreciate having a great guy like Rey in her corner.
Rey will console Sharon as she worries about what the future holds. She wants to stick around for her loved ones, but everything will seem so uncertain. Later, Rey will accompany Sharon to her oncologist appointment. It’ll be time to discuss treatment options and what Sharon can expect in the next phase.
Of course, Sharon’s main concern will be if she can beat this. She’ll ask the doctor and get reassurance that she can fight. After Sharon learns possible treatment methods, she’ll try to wrap her head around this enough to tell her other loved ones. Sharon will still be feeling overwhelmed, and those closest to her will definitely notice.
Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will gently confront Sharon about her strange behavior. After he witnesses some odd things and gets the scoop from a worried Faith, Nick will push for honesty. He’ll insist that a lot of people care about Sharon and want to know what’s going on.
Sharon will tearfully admit that she has cancer. Nick will join Sharon on the sofa and remind her that she doesn’t have to handle everything on her own. He’ll want Sharon to remember that she’s got a strong support system. They’re all going to need one another as they deal with the tough road ahead.
Sharon will eventually make this cancer confession to her kids. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be crushed, especially since she won’t have Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) home to lean on – at least not right now. Tessa just kicked off her tour, so it’ll be interesting to see how long Mariah keeps Sharon’s cancer under wraps.
Whatever the case, Mariah will let Sharon know she’s got her back. Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) will be devastated by Sharon’s revelation, but she’ll offer comfort as well. After Faith asks if her mom’s scared, Sharon will insist she’s not going anywhere. She’ll be adamant that cancer won’t win.
Sharon will share a group hug with the whole gang and prepare to fight as promised. As for Faith, she’ll rely on her dad during this troubling time. Faith will ask Nick how this could happen to Sharon. She’ll still be stunned by her mom’s diagnosis, but Nick will feel confident that Sharon’s going to be OK.
Noah Newman (Robert Adamson) should get a somber phone call at some point, which could bring him back to Genoa City. Sharon could use all the support she can get!
