The first dance group up was “The Rise”. The Rise was a newly formed group from Gilbert, Arizona and one member of said group is actually a familiar face. He came last season. He was with a different group at the time and he had been struggling with the lack of relationship he had with his father, but he’s back now and he’s made his peace with things he cannot change. He was with the Rise. The Rise was a Hip Hop group. They made a strong showing the cleanliness and attention to detail. There was on mistake towards the end. The judges couldn’t help noticing it. They addressed it with the group and then they said they look for potentially more than anything else. And so no one wanted to judge the group based on that one mistake.

Derek, J. Lo, and Ne-Yo had all enjoyed it. They also were willing to use this new thing to the show called the “callback” and what that means for the dance group is that they get a second chance to prove how much they want it. They would get this second performance to determine if they should go into the duels. Now, the next group was called “Oxygen”. They were from the Netherlands and they were several styles of dance all mixed into one. They were quick to make an impression with this one dance move that blew everyone away. J. Lo would later say how she had tried to do that move with her own back up dancers and they had to scrap it because they couldn’t get done that cleanly. She, therefore, knows how hard Oxygen worked to get it right.

Oxygen was precise. They were clean and their dance itself was beautiful. The judges gave the group a standing ovation and so their answers were a given. They all said “yes” and they couldn’t wait to see more from the group. Up next was the dance group Indigenous Enterprise. They were from Phoenix, Arizona and they considered their style as the dance of their people. They were truly indigenous native Americans. They were in a viral video that won an MTV VMA and so they have some experience. They also knew they were showing the judges something they had never seen before. The judges hadn’t seen such a rich part of someone’s culture and they had all enjoyed the newfound experience.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t exactly ready for World of Dance. The judges thought it was beautiful and at the same time, they couldn’t push it forward because it wasn’t really something they were looking for. The next group was a little more conventional. James & Harris were a dance duo. They danced Contemporary and they were also best friends. They were like the only two boys in their dance class. They instantly became friends overnight and they were so close that they were like brothers. They were actually mistaken for brothers. The judges thought they were when they first met them and the judges all different opinions on them. J. Lo gave them a yes. Derek gave them a callback and so Ne-Yo was the tie-breaker.

Ne-Yo noted that they had been nervous when they first started dancing. He saw the missteps and missed opportunities, but he also thought it was strong enough to stand on its own and so he gave the boys a yes. They were pushed through to the next round. They now have until then to win over Derek. The next group was “305”. They got to dance with J. Lo during the Superbowl and so they were used to performing. They couldn’t wait to impress her again. They were from Miami, Florida and they showed off their Latin Ballroom moves. They were good. It just wasn’t a strong enough impression the first time around and so they were given a callback. They had a second chance to show the judges why they should be in the duels.

The next group was a duo. Luca and Alessandra were from Italy and they believe their Latin blood was what made them so great at Latin Ballroom. They were also a couple. They met when they were five and six and they’ve been dancing together for twenty-six years. They got married three years ago. Their marital status hasn’t changed their passion for dancing and they lit up the stage together. They were giving oomph long before the music began. They also showed off dance moves that the judges hadn’t seen before and so they were an easy group to like. Their passionate dance was like watching a telenovela in person. The judges all loved it and they gave them yesses without any second doubts getting in the way.

The next dance group was UPeepz. They were the adult version of the VPeepz. They were all from the Philippines and their dance style was Hip Hop. They had created the Peepz style and so tonight for them had fallen a little flat. They had been clean with their moves. It was more the fact they weren’t as gritty or as creative tonight. J.Lo wanted to see more and so she gave them a callback. Derek had liked their performance. He thought it was very them and he gave them a yes. It once again fell to Ne-Yo to be the tie-breaker. He thought about it and he also gave them a yes because he truly enjoyed what he saw. UPeepz now has to work on Jennifer. They have to prove to her that they deserve to be there.

The last dance group was another duo. Styles and Emma were two teenagers from Rochester, NY. Styles even moved away from his mom in order to pursue his dancing career with Emma. They have been dancing a little under two years together and its been hard because Styles’ mom was sick for a long time. She was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was younger. She suffered from seizures and she was sick often, but she also hadn’t wanted her son to be taking care of all of his life and so she told him to go after his dream. He did that and he dances a beautiful Contemporary number with his partner tonight. And it had easily been given three yesses from the judges.

THE END!
