Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, April 23 Recap – Kate Unconscious, Jake Catches ‘Susan’ – Chloe Keeps Lucas’ Deadly Secret

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, April 23, reveals that Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) entered Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) hotel room and could tell she seemed upset.

Lucas guessed this was about Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and thought Chloe deserved better than a man who was committed to someone else. Chloe was taken aback as she realized Lucas meant him.

Since Chloe was suspicious of this sudden desire to be together, Lucas admitted he had ulterior motives. After a flashback of Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) suggesting Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) might kill Chloe, Lucas blurted out that he was dying.

Lucas lied about having a brain tumor at the back of his head that the doctors couldn’t do anything about.

Lucas insisted he didn’t want to die alone, but Chloe pointed out Lucas had plenty of family and friends to support him. However, Lucas said he didn’t want anybody feeling sorry for him and convinced Chloe to keep this fake deadly diagnosis a secret.

Lucas argued that what he meant was he didn’t want to die without love in his life. He talked about his regrets and wondered what their relationship would be like if they were still together. Chloe cared about Lucas, but she confessed she had strong feelings for Brady and couldn’t just turn them off.

That said, Chloe got emotional and wanted to support Lucas in any way she could. Lucas decided he’d give Chloe time to process all this and said Brady didn’t know what he was missing.

“What the hell did I just do?!” Lucas asked himself out in the hallway afterward. Back in her room, Chloe looked glum as she researched brain tumors and treatments.

At the townhouse on Friday’s DOOL episode, Sami talked to Brady about Kristen and surprised him when she seemed to want his relationship to work. Sami felt like Brady had to keep his family together and shut the door on his Chloe temptation. Brady said Sami was right and praised her for the good advice.

While Brady was off reading a story to Rachel Black (Josephine and Rosalind May), Sami took a call from Lucas and wondered if he’d professed his undying love to Chloe. “Well, I wouldn’t say undying,” Lucas confessed.

At Julie’s Place on Friday’s Days of Our Lives episode, Chanel Dupree Kiriakis (Precious Way) had already ordered some expensive Champagne when Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) walked over.

Xander insisted it was coming out of Chanel’s half of the payout, but she felt confident they didn’t have to slum it any longer.

Xander mentioned something about playing their cards right, so Paulina (Jackée Harry) appeared and suspiciously asked what cards those would be. After Xander covered, they all sat down to work out a deal.

Paulina ranted about how this was extortion and refused to give Xander the $10 million. She didn’t think she should have to clean up Chanel’s mess despite her daughter’s pleas.

Xander kept trying to negotiate and finally suggested $1 million was his final offer. Paulina handed over a check for $100,000 instead and told Xander to take it or leave it.

Xander reluctantly took it, but Chanel wondered “what the hell” he was doing. She argued that it was only $50,000 each, so Paulina seemed shocked and furious over the obvious scam.

At the DiMera mansion, “Susan Banks” aka Kristen insisted she’d had a premonition and that Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) was in danger. Kate didn’t seem to care, so Kristen got frustrated and wound up using her real voice.

That led Kate to call “Susan” out for being Kristen. She ripped off Kristen’s wig and demanded to know what was going on.

Kristen filled Kate in on her Vivian Alamain (Linda Dano) dilemma and poured herself a drink. Kate shrugged that Kristen could just tell Vivian that she broke up with Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), but Kristen didn’t think that would work since Vivian would ask Jake about it.

However, Kate couldn’t be bothered with any of this and wanted to get ready for her island getaway.

Kristen whined that Brady could find out about her switch scheme, but Kate countered that Kristen should’ve thought about that before she started this ruse. Suddenly, Kristen lunged at Kate and knocked her out with a glass.

In the town square on Friday’s Days episode, Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) talked to Jake about the warehouse situation. She mentioned how it wasn’t a good idea to dig your heels in and hold onto things, so Jake got the feeling they weren’t talking about warehouses anymore.

Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) sauntered over and got confirmation that Jake was willing to give the warehouses up. Jake insisted the warehouses were never his to begin with – clearly still meaning Gabi.

Jake also brought up his secluded island getaway plans before he dashed off to join Kate.

Once Philip was alone with Gabi, he suggested having a celebration over dinner. Gabi had a better idea and thought Philip should take her back to his place instead.

Back at the DiMera mansion, Kristen was trying to drag unconscious Kate out of the living room when Jake came in. Kate was out of sight on the floor as Jake demanded to know who “Susan” was.
