Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, June 18, reveals that Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) dreamed of Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) before waking up to EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerrigel).
Meanwhile, Kate Roberts DiMera (Lauren Koslow) pushed Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) for passion – and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) played mind games with Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus).
At the DiMera mansion, Jake insisted he wasn’t letting Gabi go again. He knew Gabi was upset that he hadn’t told Kate the truth yet, but he promised it had always been Gabi he wanted and that was still true.
On Friday’s DOOL episode, Jake and Gabi kissed passionately as Chad appeared. Chad thought they looked like a couple of dogs in heat and bickered with his brother before Jake took off to pick Kate up from the hospital.
That left Chad to mess with Gabi, who argued that Jake just wanted to be there for Kate since she was so helpless.
Chad hinted that Kate might not be as helpless as Gabi thinks, so Gabi wondered if there was something she didn’t know. However, Chad claimed he meant Kate wasn’t helpless because she lost her sight.
Chad reminded Gabi that Kate was strong and resilient – that Kate’s strength was what attracted Jake to her in the first place.
Chad thought maybe Gabi had a reason to be worried. He suggested that Kate could pull Jake closer again since they’d be spending a lot of time together. “Why don’t you worry about your own messed up relationship and stay the hell out of mine!” Gabi snapped before stomping off.
Up in Jake’s room on Friday’s Days episode, Gabi spotted his jacket and had a flashback of their most recent passionate encounter together. After Gabi picked up the jacket and smelled it, she clutched it to her chest tightly and sat there looking distraught.
At the hospital, Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) came to visit Kate, who acknowledged that they brought an arrangement of lilies. Anna wondered how Kate knew, so Kate claimed she could tell due to the smell.
After Anna apologized for having a suspicious mind, she recalled how Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) faked blindness once for revenge. Kate thought that was a brilliant strategy, though Anna didn’t agree.
Later, Jake showed up ahead of Kate’s release and assured Kate that Gabi understood where everyone stood. Kate knew it’d be tough going home from the hospital since Gabi owned the house. She acted like she was concerned for Gabi since she’d be spending so much time with Jake.
At John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) townhouse, Sami dreamed she was in bed with Lucas. She woke up to EJ instead, so he wondered what had put a smile on Sami’s face in her sleep.
Sami claimed she was dreaming about her husband before their conversation shifted to last night. EJ and Sami hadn’t made love, which EJ understood since he’d pushed Sami away during his recovery.
Nevertheless, EJ was committed to getting their marriage back on track. He kept trying to initiate sleeping together, but Sami repeatedly made excuses and shut him down.
As for the topic of staying in Salem, Sami wasn’t sure that was a good idea. EJ didn’t understand since Sami’s family was in town. He wondered why Sami would want to leave the people she loved.
In the living room, Marlena admitted to John that she caught Lucas and Sami kissing. They debated what that meant, but John suggested maybe they shouldn’t read too much into the closeness.
EJ nearly overheard, but Marlena managed to cover when he entered the room with Sami. Talk turned to EJ getting involved with the DiMera family business again.
EJ argued that it was time someone took control to right the ship. He added that hopefully not too many people would get thrown overboard in the process.
At the pub, Lucas found Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) and asked if he could rent the room upstairs. After Roman agreed, Lucas mentioned that Sami left town last night.
Roman struggled to believe Sami would leave without saying goodbye, but Lucas argued that EJ came to fetch her and that Sami was more than happy to be fetched!
Roman picked up on the angry tone and wondered if something happened between Lucas and Sami. After Lucas left, Marlena and John stopped by.
They informed Roman that Sami and EJ were actually staying in Salem, so Roman thought that was great news. He also brought up how upset Lucas seemed with Sami – like it was something personal.
At the DiMera mansion again, Chad greeted EJ with a hug and wished him good luck finding a room since the house was pretty full these days. Chad also mentioned that EJ would have to check with Gabi for approval to stay.
EJ brought up how Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) had caused complications in Chad’s marriage, but Chad said it was more like Stefan took advantage of Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) when she was sick.
EJ thought that should’ve made Chad stay on guard with Jake, but Chad didn’t want to talk about him.
Even so, EJ thought they should address how Chad stepped down as CEO and let that lowlife monster threaten to ruin their family’s legacy.
Chad insisted that he resigned because he was going to be kicked out anyway, but EJ countered that their father believed in fight rather than flight. He wanted Chad to retake the throne and offered to help him accomplish that.
When Tony appeared, EJ included him in the plan and felt Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) would want the three of them running DiMera Enterprises. Anna piped up about the wonderful life she was now living with Andre and didn’t want him dragged back into drama.
Tony agreed that they’d never been happier and took Anna up on her offer to stroll through the gardens.
EJ wondered about Chad’s feelings on the matter, so Chad admitted he needed time to consider everything. EJ warned Chad not to take too long since if they were going to overthrow Jake, they needed to do it soon.
Lucas came to get his belongings and ran into Sami near the mansion door. He lit up thinking that Sami changed her mind and told EJ it was over, but Sami insisted she was staying because EJ wouldn’t budge.
Sami didn’t want Lucas getting any ideas! “Ideas about what?” EJ asked when he popped up once more.
Upstairs, Kate comically entered Jake’s bedroom wearing sunglasses and using a cane. Jake helped lead Kate, who called out to Gabi and wondered why she was there. Kate claimed she could smell Gabi’s cheap perfume and that’s how she sensed her presence.
Gabi suggested that their dry cleaning got mixed up, so she came to Jake’s room to look for it. Kate acknowledged that she had forgiven Jake for sleeping with Gabi.
Kate didn’t want Gabi getting her hopes up about getting back together with Jake, so Gabi thought Kate’s concern for her feelings was out of character.
After Gabi left on Friday’s DOOL episode, Kate told Jake she wanted to feel his arms around her. “Make love to me, Jake,” Kate whispered in his ear.
