Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) will reject Bonnie Lockhart’s (Judi Evans) marriage proposal, so no engagement will mean heartbreak for this wannabe bride. Why will Justin turn Bonnie down – and will this couple survive the setback? Here’s what we know so far.
During the week of July 12-16, Bonnie will be giddy with anticipation thanks to a surprise she’s cooking up. Since Bonnie won’t be able to contain her excitement, she’ll end up confiding in Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans).
Bonnie will fill Kayla in on a bomb she plans to drop on Justin, but she may or may not share exactly what that bomb is. I
f Bonnie admits she’s going to ask Justin to marry her, Kayla might gently prepare Bonnie for the possibility of rejection. Perhaps Kayla will have a hunch that this plan of Bonnie’s won’t go over well.
Of course, Bonnie might keep things vague and just admit she’s going to give Justin the romantic shock of his life. In that case, Kayla might simply wish Bonnie luck and hope it all works out for her.
Unfortunately, Justin won’t give Bonnie the answer she’s looking for.
Days spoilers say Bonnie will indeed pop the question, but Justin’s rejection will crush Bonnie in the aftermath. It definitely sounds like Justin will turn down Bonnie’s offer of marriage and break her heart in the process.
Bonnie will have to accept Justin’s decision, but she may feel like he owes her an explanation for why he’s putting up a fight.
Naturally, we can think of some good reasons – like the fact that Bonnie and Justin haven’t been dating all that long for starters.
Justin may think this is all happening a bit too soon under the circumstances.
There’s also the matter of Justin struggling to let go of Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans) and marry someone who looks just like her.
The thought of it could take some time for Justin to come to grips with. Justin loves Bonnie for Bonnie, but that doesn’t mean he can just forget about Adrienne and their history.
After what happened between Justin and Kayla, Justin probably doesn’t have a great view of marriage these days anyway. He might fret over another disastrous ceremony and insist he’d rather just keep their relationship as is for now.
Another option might be that Justin has a marriage proposal of his own coming up and doesn’t want to ruin his surprise. That might be another reason to turn Bonnie down in the episodes ahead.
Regardless, Bonnie’s going to face pain over this rejection, so Justin will have to work hard to smooth things over.
Justin and Bonnie should pull through as a DOOL couple for now, but we’ll see how it all plays out down the road – especially if Adrienne ever comes back from the dead in a shocking twist.
