Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Marla Gibbs has joined the DOOL cast as Olivia Price, so Paulina Price’s (Jackée Harry) mom is about to shake things up in Salem! SOD confirmed the news and revealed that Gibbs’ first airdate as Olivia will be August 17.
Of course, this means Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) grandma will be coming for a visit as well. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of relationship Olivia has with her daughter and granddaughter.
Paulina has a big and bold personality, so there’s a good chance she got some of that from Olivia!
It seems likely Paulina will clash with her overbearing mother once she hits town, but it serves Paulina right for all the drama she’s caused since she first showed up.
Paulina is at least trying to do the right thing now and has called off the demolition, but she’s still got some work to do before she can earn forgiveness.
Once Olivia’s around causing problems, it’ll no doubt serve as a decent dose of soap karma.
Paulina has really tried to listen and accept Chanel’s decision to be fluid when it comes to her dating options.
Will Olivia be as understanding if Chanel and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) wind up together? That could be another storyline for Days to explore once Olivia heads to Salem.
Naturally, we have to mention Jackée Harry and Marla Gibbs’ former connection. These two were co-stars on 227, so Gibbs’ upcoming stint will bring a fun reunion.
“#DAYS fam, are ready to meet Paulina’s mother?” Harry asked DOOL fans on Twitter. “’When your family’s around you, you’re never alone!’”
You might also recognize Gibbs from her work as Florence Johnston on The Jeffersons or plenty of other projects over the years.
Gibbs played Aunt Irma on Passions back in 2004-2005, so this isn’t her first rodeo in the world of daytime dramas either.
