Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Tuesday, September 21, teases that John Black (Drake Hogestyn) will investigate a new Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) mystery while Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) warns Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) away from the devil.
At the townhouse on Tuesday’s Days episode, John will admit that Will Horton’s (Chandler Massey) screenplay got it right.
The story Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) told about the possession was accurate – and that’s exactly why John’s wary of his namesake dredging up the past.
John loves that Johnny’s found his passion, but he really wishes he’d choose another subject matter for his movie. Allie will understand after John opens up about the agonizing ordeal the possession was for all of them.
It was especially hard for Marlena, who battled a great deal of guilt over her actions while under the devil’s mind control.
John won’t want Marlena to relive that pain – nor will he want to risk shaking some evil force loose that could come after Marlena again.
Although John may not admit that last part to Allie, she’ll get that all this demonic stuff isn’t something to be messed with.
It won’t be long until Allie leaves on a mission to warn Johnny, who’ll be busy charming Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens).
Chanel will agree to give Johnny another chance, so they’ll lean in for a kiss – perhaps just in time for Allie to show up and spot it.
Of course, Allie has agreed to back off when it comes to whatever Chanel and Johnny want to do about their romance. The twins have more important matters to discuss anyway since Allie won’t want Johnny to hurt their grandparents.
Allie just won’t think including this possession in the film is a good idea, so she’ll hope to steer Johnny away from the devilish content.
We should also address that phone call Johnny received after trying to get in touch with Sami.
That was supposedly Sami calling back, but DOOL fans know she’d been abducted the last time we saw her. Maybe Sami’s armed captor will force her to pretend everything’s fine.
Sami might urge Johnny not to worry and suggest she doesn’t know when she’ll be back in town.
In reality, Sami will likely remain in a dire hostage situation, but she’ll just have to deal with the drama for now.
Speaking of drama, John will head to the hospital and get caught up on some strange happenings.
John should hear about the lights going out and how Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) found Marlena standing there while Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) was unconscious on the floor.
Doug will need medical attention immediately – and his condition will head downhill fast. John will end up getting updates from Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) in Marlena’s office, so he’ll worry about how bizarre all this sounds.
It should leave John with a bad feeling, especially since he’s already on edge over all the possession memories.
As for Marlena, the devil has been demanding that she trade herself to save Doug.
It’s possible the deal was made before Doug’s collapse, but Days spoilers say Julie will accidentally make things worse for her husband later in the week.
That could mean Marlena will ultimately be pressured into making the deal – or perhaps the devil simply lied and will possess them both for a bit.
In the meantime, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) will meet with Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) to discuss her future with Abe Carver (James Reynolds).
Paulina will want Lani’s permission for the engagement that’s coming down the line.
Lani may point out that she gave permission to Abe as well and has no qualms about the two of them marrying. The only thing Lani will want in return is a promise.
Lani will want to be sure Paulina’s committed to Abe and their eventual marriage. She won’t want more secrets and lies to get in the way, so Paulina may insist that won’t be a problem.
Sadly, Paulina’s bio mom bomb and not-the-father shocker will turn this family upside down sooner or later.
The whole truth will likely come out at Abe and Paulina’s wedding, so that should be worth tuning in for! As other Days news emerges, we’ll fill you in.
