Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 13, teases that a Rosemary’s Baby omen struck for Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal). Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) wedding date was also revealed, so let’s talk about how all the Days action played out.
At Paulina’s place, she shared a toast to love and marriage with Abe, Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and Eli Grant (Lamon Archey). After Eli and Lani left with a key lime pie, Paulina beat herself up for asking Lani to call her “Mama” earlier.
Abe downplayed it as Paulina getting too excited and understood since it meant so much to be Lani’s dad.
Talk turned to their wedding, which Abe and Paulina wanted to be a small, intimate affair. They checked their schedules and settled on the third week in November.
Abe also praised Paulina for keeping her promise of no more secrets and lies. He thought things had been wonderful ever since and pointed out he’d never been happier.
Paulina returned the sentiment and hugged Abe, but she had a nervous look on her face.
Outside Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) room, she wondered if Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) only wanted to play John Black (Drake Hogestyn) so she wouldn’t have love scenes with another man.
Chad assured Abigail he was just kidding, but she worried about his jealousy causing drama for them again.
However, Chad insisted John and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) had an inspiring love story that gave him hope.
Chad wanted to tackle this project with Abigail and had hope for their own future together – though Chad wasn’t trying to rush Abby or pressure her when it came to reconnecting in the bedroom.
Chad just wanted Abigail to know that he loved her and always would.
Abigail stopped Chad from leaving and invited him to stay in her room tonight, so they wound up making love. As they basked in the afterglow, Chad asked if this meant they were back together.
Abigail said she wanted to be close to Chad, but their problems weren’t going to just disappear. She wanted to tackle those problems together instead of alone, so Chad was on board with that idea.
At the townhouse on Wednesday’s Days show, John expressed his gratitude to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) for pulling his funding from Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) movie.
Roman felt what mattered most was doing everything they could to protect Marlena.
After Roman left, he ran into Lani and Eli outside the pub. The group discussed Abe’s engagement to Lani and what a good match they were.
At their apartment later, Eli said he wanted some “Lani pie” for dessert, so they dashed off to make love.
Back at the townhouse on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, the devil spoke to Marlena through the white sound machine as her bedroom glowed red.
The Devil wanted Marlena to let go of her fears and give in. The devil added that the time was now and that he needed Marlena to be his tonight.
Before the devil could share the details of his “magnificent” plan for Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) baby, John appeared outside the door.
John realized it was locked and broke through it by force, but Marlena was resting comfortably in her bed by then.
John was puzzled since he thought he heard voices, but Marlena suggested maybe she was talking in her sleep.
Next, John offered a cup of tea, which was now cold since Roman stopped by. Marlena got updates on Johnny turning his movie into the Marlena Evans story, which would be all about the possession.
John assured Marlena that Johnny could make another film and that the past would stay in the past. John pulled Marlena close and let her know it’d be smooth sailing from here on out, but the nearby white sound machine crackled a bit.
After Ben secured the window at home, he was unsettled over that gust of wind appearing out of nowhere.
Ben hoped it wasn’t a bad omen, so Ciara wondered if Ben thought some unknown force was trying to warn them not to get pregnant.
Although Ben said “of course not,” Ciara pushed him to be honest. Ben guessed he was just nervous about trying for a baby, so Ciara admitted she was nervous, too. She felt that was normal since they were taking such a big step.
Ciara suggested they should see what was on TV, but Rosemary’s Baby was playing. After Ciara turned it off, she warned Ben not to take it as another bad omen.
Ciara argued that no one was trying to tell Ben that he was evil or that she was Rosemary. She wanted to focus on what was real – and that was their love for each other.
Ben told Ciara that Marlena made him see there was no reason they shouldn’t have a child. Ben thought they would make a beautiful family together, but he looked uneasy as he held Ciara close.
