In tonight’s FBI Most Wanted episode, FBI Special Agent Ortiz brought a case to his team. He claims that someone is trying to kill his former informant Sheryl James and that James remains in danger. Her sister was murdered. Both women looked alike. Her sister Lindsey was also collecting something from Sheri’s car and so there’s reason to believe someone thought they were shooting at Sheri when they killed her sister.

Plus, there was a known danger to Sheri. She helped took down drug dealer Max Nikolla who was an American born from Serbian immigrants and his parts focused on assimilation that didn’t work. Nikolla considered himself Serbian. He worked with a Serbian terrorist cell and he committed several acts of terrorism but the Joint Terrorism Task Force was only able to prove he was sending death threats to journalist Daniel Arwith. And they proved that with Sheri’s help.

Sheri tied the case together. She proved that Nikolla was sending death threats to the journalist and that he killed the man’s dog to terrorize the family. Her testimony sent Nikolla away for five years. He’s out now. He’s on probation and he hasn’t checked in at the halfway house in three days.

He’s MIA. He went missing around the same time that Sheri’s sister was killed and that’s why Ortiz suspects Nikolla murdered Sheri’s sister Lindsey. But Ortiz doesn’t know how Nikolla found out Sheri was the informant. They went to great lengths to cover that up and so either there was a leak or Nikolla has been working his way through people who knew him back then. And that’s why Ortiz involved his team.

He needed their help in apprehending Nikolla before he hurts anyone else. The team agreed to help him and the first thing they did was get Sheri to a safe house. They also went looking for Nikolla. They checked in with the journalist to see if he was safe and he didn’t think he was in danger anymore. Arwith explained why he ticked off Nikolla so well.

He wrote an article that called for the United Nations to respect a two-state solution in Kosovo and Serbia. There were a lot of Serbians that were upset with him after that article and Nikolla especially hated him because he was an American who said that. Arwith said that Americans played a big part in the bombings in both Kosovo and Serbia back in 1999. And if he had to guess, he thinks Nikolla would target Americans.

No sooner did the team realize this than they found a dead body connected to their case. The dead body was delivering pace keeper tech and he had been killed while his vehicle had been stolen. It was Nikolla. It had to be and he stole those pace keepers for a reason. Someone on the team said those things can be turned into IEDs.

The team then went looking for sporting events in the area and they found a charitable run set up to raise money for injured American soldiers. The team knew Nikolla would target the event. They also knew why he was doing it. Nikolla was close to a cousin and his cousin’s leg had gotten blown off in the bombings in Serbia. Nikolla was therefore going to blow off the legs of innocent civilians as retribution for his cousin.

It also didn’t help that his cousin committed suicide while he was in prison. Nikolla was out for blood and he was doing a leg for a leg situation here. He was actually still at the sporting event as he watched people get maimed, but LaCroix was able to save lives by telling everyone to take off their shoes and they apprehended Nikolla. He was at the scene. He didn’t try to flee until he saw the FBI and they were able to arrest him with no problems.

Only there was an issue. Sheri had been murdered and it wasn’t Nikolla. Nikolla still had no clue she was an informant and he didn’t care because he was onto bigger things by then and so he forgot all about his ex-girlfriend. Sheri had to have been killed by someone else. The team investigated it by investigating her and they found her secret.

Sheri was pregnant when she died. She runs a limo company and that same company helped her to blackmail the rich and powerful after they get caught on a camera inside the limo. Sheri’s limo was later targeted. A woman later identified as ex-military Nancy Lawson killed her way in to get a key in Sheri’s office and then went to the bank posing as Sheri in order to use the key. Whatever she found, she brought back to her employer.

She was paid for her services and her boss told her to leave town. Lawson was instead apprehended. The team arrested her and they searched her belongings. They knew she was in contact with Congressman Reese Holland. Holland was also contacted by Sheri before she died. She called him and someone tracked her down back to the hotel room. And he had her killed.

The medical examiner confirmed that Sheri was pregnant when she died. She was about four months along and so suspicion as to the baby’s daddy fell on Holland. Holland was a married man. He’s been married for fifteen years and he had wanted Sheri dead. He didn’t want to pay her off. Like he would have done if he was being blackmailed like all the others. He instead had Sheri killed and that sounded personal.

All traces of Holland and Sheri’s relationship died with her. The box that Sheri had must have held evidence and that’s why Holland had Lawson collect it. Holland also sat on the parole board. He knew when Nikolla was coming out and he tried to pin his crimes on him because Sheri must have told her boyfriend about her past.

Now she’s dead and the congressman has been arrested. Ortiz was feeling so down after the case that LaCroix invited him as well as the rest of the team to his father’s wedding. It was a great wedding as it turns out. Everyone had fun and Barnes announced she and her wife were pregnant again. And LaCroix realized he’s in love with his girlfriend.

THE END!
