General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that fans will eventually see some Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) gravestone sorrow since Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) needs some cemetery closure to let go. Carly has been struggling to accept the loss of Jason since he’s defied death before – not to mention Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) came back from the dead recently.
Carly wants to believe Jason is alive and could come back to his loved ones in Port Charles, but she’s starting to realize she has to make peace with his passing. A memorial service could help with that, but Carly may not find true closure until there’s another gravestone near Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) and Mike Corbin’s (Max Gail) in the cemetery.
That should make everything seem a bit more real and help Carly take the next step in grieving the loss. Of course, it’ll also give Carly a place to talk to Jason when she needs him – and she’s definitely going to need him once the truth about Sonny and Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) Nixon Falls romance comes out.
Carly may find herself weeping at Jason’s grave down the road and wishing he were there to comfort her. In the meantime, Jason’s gravestone will have to be ordered and placed in the cemetery with care.
It wasn’t that long ago that Sonny was pushing Jason to get rid of his own gravestone, but Steve Burton’s departure and this tragic twist of fate for Jason have changed everything. Now dead Jason is the one getting a gravestone, which should serve as a spot for Sonny and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to speak with Jason as well.
It obviously won’t be as good as having a conversation with the real thing, but at least this might allow the Corinthos clan to feel close to Jason in some way. Anything will help as Carly and the others try to make it through this difficult period of mourning.
Carly is arguably taking Jason’s death harder than anyone, so she’s the one most in need of closure that perhaps only a gravestone can provide. We’ll pass along updates as other GH news becomes available.
