General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) may have offered a Navy SEAL training clue to indicate that his memories already returned. Drew may finally know all about his true past instead of just the Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) history he was memory-mapped to have.
In the August 24 episode, Drew worked to convince Nurse Chloe Jennings (Phoebe Kuhlman) to hand over the pen to the guards. He thought it’d help Chloe win their trust and pave the way for an escape, but Chloe had concerns about Drew taking another beating.
Drew admitted he wasn’t looking forward to it, but he felt he could handle it no problem. That’s when Drew offered some dialogue that could mean he remembers his own past.
“You should’ve seen what I went through when I was in training,” Drew said. He confirmed to Chloe that he was a Navy SEAL, so she gasped at the thought of them using “waterboarding and stuff like that.”
“Yeah, and stuff like that,” Drew said – once again confirming this information as if he remembered it rather than just heard about it.
It’s possible Drew was just quickly throwing all this in as a way to convince Chloe, but it felt like he really knew what he was talking about in terms of his training.
Of course, it’s also possible the writers are choosing to ignore the fact that Drew was missing his memories before.
After all, the story of Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) ordering the hit on Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) has been massively overhauled as well. Major rewrites are becoming the norm on GH these days.
Nevertheless, it’d be easy to explain that the trauma of the plane crash brought Drew’s memories rushing back.
Drew might’ve had another head injury that somehow brought everything to the surface in soapy fashion.
It’s even possible everything Drew’s endured while he’s been locked up jogged his memory somehow.
Regardless, Drew seems to remember being a Navy SEAL and what he went through to become one, which could mean Drew experienced total recall at some point while he’s been away.
