General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, April 23 – Carly Defends Jason Stabbing - Sonny’s Gunman Showdown - Wounded Jax Rushed to ER

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, April 23, tease that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will desperately want to prevent another major mob war from erupting. Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) fears one is coming, but Laura will hope she can somehow convince Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) to keep the peace.

During Laura’s chat with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), he’ll point out that Cyrus is going to want something in return. Laura will end up having another bonding session with Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) later, so that should make her realize she has to give Cyrus the same time and attention.

Cyrus wants a sibling relationship with Laura, so she’ll have to at least pretend she’s willing to try.

As for Cyrus, he’ll have a run-in he doesn’t approve of at GH. “What are you doing?” an agitated Cyrus asks on Friday’s preview video. We know Cyrus will accost Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in Friday’s episode, so he should cause a delay on her way to see Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) just stabbed Jason at Pentonville on Carly’s orders, so now Jason will need medical attention at GH. Of course, this is all a plot to get Jason away from Cyrus’ men behind bars and set up Jason’s looming getaway.

Carly will eventually have a chance to explain the stabbing situation to Jason, who’ll be set up in a hospital bed by then. Jason will wonder what the heck Carly was thinking and will surely blast her for not giving him a real warning.

Carly will apologize and argue it was the only way, but Jason may disagree with her on that.

As for Shawn, he’ll get a visit from someone as he remains in the slammer. Shawn will insist it’s been a while, so it may be Jordan who comes to discuss the stabbing and grill Shawn about what angle he’s working.

Other General Hospital spoilers say Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will be a busy man in Friday’s episode.

Valentin will push Curtis to score information on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), but he’ll also make time for a strained meeting with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Valentin will want to ensure he has rights when it comes to his child – and he’ll warn Brook Lynn that he has more than enough money to protect them.

Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) will be on hand for this conversation as well, so he should chime in whenever he sees fit.

Martin will be there as Valentin’s attorney, but Valentin will insist this doesn’t have to turn into some vicious custody battle if Brook Lynn will just cooperate. This could lead to Valentin’s upcoming decision to give back control of ELQ – but only AFTER the baby’s born.

That’ll add to Brook Lynn’s dilemma since there’s no baby to actually give birth to! However, Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) just overheard Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) pouring her heart out to Nathan West’s (Ryan Paevey) grave.

Olivia now knows about Maxie’s plan to fake her baby’s death, so she’ll end up tipping Brook Lynn off to that plan in the coming episodes.

In the meantime, Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) will jump into TJ Ashford’s (Tajh Bellow) arms and push him to congratulate her. As Molly’s graduation looms, she’ll have some good career prospects. TJ will help Molly nail down a plan for her future, which will naturally include TJ as well.

In Nixon Falls, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will put his hands up as danger erupts at the firehouse dance. GH fans just saw a mystery man lurking with a gun, so it won’t be long until he covers his face with a bandanna and holds the weapon on Sonny.

“Whatever you’re doing, I advise against it,” “Mike” warns the man in Friday’s preview clip. Sonny will step in front of Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) and hope they can end this without the showdown turning deadly.

Over with Nina, she’ll prove unsuccessful in convincing Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) to leave by himself. Since Nina’s desperate to get Jax away from Sonny, she’ll suggest they should go somewhere else to talk.

Sonny will likely end up struggling with the gunman, so that should lead to the weapon firing and hitting Jax in the shoulder. General Hospital spoilers say Jax will catch a glimpse of Sonny before he takes the bullet and gets rushed to the ER.

Nina will go with wounded Jax to the hospital, where she’ll work hard to make him believe that Sonny sighting was just in his imagination! Jax will believe Nina, but there’ll be trouble when Sonny shows up to check on the shooting victim.

It’ll leave Nina scrambling to keep “Mike” out of Jax’s room, so there’ll be some close calls for Nina as the week winds down.
