General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Friday, July 9, tease that Austin (Roger Howarth) will seek a new job, which will lead to Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) troubling encounter. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) will also brace for Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) engagement reaction, but he’s actually in for a pleasant surprise.
At Charlie’s Pub, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will pry a confession out of Stella Henry (Vernee Watson).
Stella will admit she urged Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to step aside and give Curtis time to work things out with Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry).
“Where the hell do you get off telling her something like that?!” Curtis demands to know in Friday’s GH preview video.
Stella will scramble to defend herself, but Curtis will think his auntie overstepped big time and needs to butt out of his love life.
Over with Jordan, she’ll wonder what Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos) would like for her to do.
Molly, Jordan, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) were all in on a sneaky plan, which led to Martin scoring an incriminating recording of Judge Carson (Anita Finley).
However, Molly has to be smart about her next moves since Judge Carson is enraged and ready to fight back.
TJ and Molly will await some crucial updates regarding Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore) on Friday’s episode, but there could be more trouble brewing.
Shawn will get a bit threatening with a guard as he warns he “can’t let that happen.” He certainly won’t allow Alexis to end up in a worse situation that she’s already in, but Shawn could pay the price if he creates more drama.
Next, Martin will pay Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) a visit and notice he’s in an awfully good mood. Martin will determine that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) is the one who put a smile on Valentin’s face, so he’ll fish for answers about any changes in this relationship.
Anna is dragging her feet on pursuing a romance with Valentin, but he’ll hold out hope that he can wear her down with his irresistible charm.
As for Maxie, she’ll spot someone and look rather unsettled by this person’s presence. “What are you doing in Port Charles?” Maxie asks nervously in Friday’s preview clip.
It looks like it’ll be Austin who makes Maxie feel uneasy. Austin is the doctor who delivered Maxie’s baby, so she’ll be on edge since he’s been helping with the search and is now there in PC again.
Maxie will be wary of anyone who might get too close to the truth about Louise August (Harper and Scarlett Bloom).
Austin will apparently be hoping to score a position at GH based on his upcoming conversation with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). “I’m hoping that doesn’t preclude me getting the job,” Austin admits in Friday’s preview video.
Britt will seem a bit suspicious of Austin – and with good reason since he’s keeping some big secrets under wraps.
Austin will plan to reveal his true identity at the ELQ meeting next week, but let’s talk about Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) and Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) in the meantime.
There’ll be some tension as Liz glares and Finn states that he’s open to suggestions.
Liz won’t be pleased if Finn revisits his plan to confess or reiterates that he wants to move Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) body.
There’ll definitely be a disagreement between these two, so we’ll see what solution Finn and Liz settle on.
Over with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), she’ll pat Jason on the back and insist she’s going to let him break the happy news.
Carly will think Jason’s the best person to share their engagement – most likely with Monica since she’s indeed about to face the shocker.
Fortunately, Monica will be pretty “chill” all things considered. She’ll understand on some level and will give Jason her blessing, so that’s the best outcome he could ask for here.
Meanwhile, Carly will face off with Britt and try to get her to be reasonable when it comes to this marriage drama. It sounds like Carly will just manage to rile Britt up even more!
Finally, Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) will corner Portia and hope she can count on the doc’s support.
Terry threw her hat in the ring for the chief of staff position, so Portia will have to decide if Terry’s indeed the doctor she wants to back.
