General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that May sweeps will bring some Port Charles bombs and plenty of excitement. Several curveballs are coming up on the ABC soap, so let’s talk about what’s in store. Here’s a May sweeps preview so you’ll know what to expect in the coming weeks.
For starters, let’s talk about a new ally that’s set to emerge for Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). It’ll be a face from Jason’s past who could prove pivotal to loosening Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) hold on the Corinthos clan.
Since Jason is at Pentonville and we know Sean Blakemore is reprising his role as Shawn Butler, it seems likely Shawn will be the ally Jason teams up with. Shawn used to work for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and could prove to be quite useful, so we can look forward to the dynamic duo.
As for Sonny, it’s easy to see he’s got a huge crush on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) – and that could certainly complicate Nina’s new little corner of the world. To complicate matters even further, Nina seems to be falling for “Mike” as well!
General Hospital spoilers say Nina and Sonny’s connection will deepen during May sweeps, so that could make it tougher for Nina to keep the truth about Sonny’s identity a secret.
GH fans can also expect this Elijah Crowe (Dan White) situation to become a bigger problem. Sonny’s instincts will continue to prove correct, so shady Elijah could pose a serious threat in more ways than one.
Over with Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), it looks like she’ll get tangled up in all the Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) drama and could prove crucial to helping Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton).
General Hospital spoilers say Liz will rebuild her own life as well – and she’ll have someone by her side to help her. GH is setting the stage for a Finn and Elizabeth pairing, so we’ll see that come together a bit more during May sweeps.
As for Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), they’ll have a meeting of the minds. It looks like Brook Lynn may get honest about her pregnancy lie and could slide into the prime position to pass Maxie’s baby off as her own.
General Hospital spoilers say Brook Lynn and Maxie will have an important discussion about whether they should work together on a new plan, but it sounds like they’ll give themselves the green light soon.
As Maxie prepares for her baby’s birth, she may be preparing to give her bundle of joy to Brook Lynn for safekeeping.
There’ll be more unfortunate adventures for Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) in Pentonville – and Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) friendship with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will be tested on the outside. There’ll be some opportunities for Dante and Sam’s bond to take a hit along the way.
Other General Hospital spoilers say we’ll see some couple shakeups as Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) grows closer to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) while Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) leans on Marcus Taggert (Real Andrews).
These may be slow-burn romances, but there’ll be some movement in the right direction for these pairings.
It’s safe to say Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) are another couple to root for, but Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) could resort to sabotage to keep them apart. Based on the dirty looks Gladys has been shooting, Sasha had better watch her back!
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) are currently a solid powercouple, but there’ll soon be some drama that shakes them up a bit. Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) is set to graduate before long, so a recast’s debut seems imminent.
There’s a good chance Spencer is behind the creepy gifts and cryptic notes, so that’s something to keep in mind. General Hospital spoilers say Nikolas and Ava are set to have a family dinner at Wyndemere, so that may be a welcome home gathering for Spencer. Something tells us that’ll be a night to remember!
Finally, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will gain the upper hand on Peter August (Wes Ramsey), but for how long? Can Valentin outsmart Peter and finally put an end to his reign of terror?
Time will tell, but Valentin will do everything in his power to keep Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and the people she loves safe.
