Maurice has also been known to reach out to his fans and followers on Instagram who seem to be struggling. Viewers have gotten to celebrate the actor’s victories and mourned losses with him, as well.

Unfortunately, Maurice is mourning the death of his father. Mental illness, the wedding of his daughter and the birth of his granddaughter are not the only things that Maurice shared with his fans.

Maurice Benard’s Touching Tribute
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Maurice loved Humberto. The actor explained that he wanted to be like him growing up and called him a hero. On Saturday, October 30, 2021, Maurice shared a video as well as several photos. The Instagram post announced the passing away of Humberto. Maurice wrote,
“As I lay here with a heavy heart but no anxiety, knowing I will never see my hero again. My dad was one of a kind no one like him, those who knew him know what I’m talking about. When I was a little boy I wanted to be him, nobody was more proud of me than my father, and boy did he love General Hospital (not Carly and Jason as a couple). My dad always said in Spanish what’s going to happen it’s gonna happen don’t worry. Say hi to everybody DAD maybe you can even sing a song with Frank Sinatra.”
General Hospital Spoilers: Reactions to Benard’s Father’s Death
A lot of fans as well as current and former co-stars chimed in to offer their condolences to Maurice. Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jax) and Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) both shared their sadness with the actor.
Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott, The Young and the Restless) also shared his reaction to the death of Maurice’s father. Thompson wrote that it was always a pleasure being around Humberto and he would be missed.
