General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may want a divorce when he realizes he’s married to mob queen Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright)! His wife’s criminal takeover may prove to be a huge turnoff when “Mike” comes home.
Once the Nixon Falls chapter of this story finally winds down, it’ll be time for a new one in Port Charles. There’s a good chance Sonny still won’t have his memories back at that point.
We’ve seen Sonny live as a completely different person in Nixon Falls, but GH writers probably want to show us what it’s like for “Mike” to enter Sonny’s world.
Of course, Sonny is sure to be horrified when he finds out about his own criminal background. “Mike” will want nothing to do with that mob life if he’s not back to his old self.
Furthermore, Carly’s willingness to embrace her role as mob queen may be problematic for Sonny. Carly may not be the kind of woman Sonny is attracted to anymore.
We could see some fighting as Carly tries to turn Sonny back into the man he used to be. Carly may fear things will end in disaster if “Mike” stands his ground and tries to pull away from the mob, especially considering the war that’s going on with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
Sonny, on the other hand, may feel like Carly’s far too willing to accept the danger. He may end up on Jasper “Jax” Jacks’ (Ingo Rademacher) side and act like the children deserve better than being connected to this life of crime.
In other words, “Mike” may clash with Carly in the aftermath of his return – and without any memories to help them reconnect, Carly will feel like an incompatible stranger. Will “Mike” push for a divorce as a result?
It’d be heartbreaking for Carly to think her husband didn’t want her anymore, but “Mike” may won’t feel like Carly’s husband at all if he can’t remember her.
Despite Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) lies, Sonny might still be drawn to her instead of Carly and all the mob drama.
