General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, April 21, reveals that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) told Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) that they were going to do things her way and that they had to act now.
Jason had injured knuckles following a fight, so Carly assumed that was due to some of Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) men and worried Jason wouldn’t survive until his trial.
Jason didn’t think there was anything Carly could do, but she argued he was wrong. Since Carly refused to lose Jason, she insisted he should be ready. Jason was frustrated and asked what it was that he should be ready for, but Carly said he’d know it when he saw it.
As the guard took Jason back to his cell, he was told he had a new roommate. The new roommate arrived, so General Hospital eventually revealed it was Shawn Butler (Sean Blakemore). Jason wondered who set this up, so Shawn suggested that was a good question.
Across town, Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) gave Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) his thoughts on her fractured friendship with Cameron Webber (William Lipton).
Jax understood Josslyn’s point out of view, but he pointed out that Cam would see the error of his ways after Jason was exonerated.
Even if Jason didn’t go free, Jax didn’t see how Josslyn was helping him by fighting with Cameron. Josslyn turned down Jax’s offer to take a fun flight just for a couple hours, but he intended to take off anyway.
Meanwhile, Cameron got some words of wisdom from Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), who reflected on his past mistakes and didn’t want Cam to make similar ones. Scott felt like Cameron had to be a standup guy now if he wanted to be one in the future.
Josslyn eventually called Cameron and admitted she didn’t like the way they left things. Cameron was relieved to hear from Joss and felt the same way. Neither Josslyn nor Cameron was ready to throw in the towel on their friendship.
Back with Carly, she talked to someone over the phone about moving ahead with the plan. At GH, Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) lashed out at Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) since the lab was taking too long on Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) results.
Finn pointed out this was his son – and Portia thought that was exactly the problem.
There’s a reason the hospital doesn’t allow parents to treat their children, so Portia lectured Finn about the rules and how he was too close to the situation. Portia felt like Finn would never forgive himself if it caused poor judgment and that led to mistakes.
Finn refused to back off the case and invited Portia to turn him into Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) if she must. Portia warned she’d do it if Finn forced her hand, but she agreed to make sure the lab put a rush on those results.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) saw Finn looking rough and asked if he was OK, so he snapped at her before apologizing. Once Liz was brought up to speed on Chase’s mysterious symptoms, she touched Finn’s hand and offered comfort.
Over with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes), she ranted at Peter August (Wes Ramsey) for even being at GH. Peter insisted he might do a story for The Invader on the ailing detective, but Anna wondered how far Peter was really going to take this.
After Anna talked about Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) being 10 times the man Peter was and 10 times more lethal, she insisted Valentin wouldn’t be the one to kill Peter if it came to that. Anna vowed to do it herself.
Peter assured Anna that the antidote was real, but he now wanted Anna to help him convince Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) that he should be in the delivery room.
Peter ultimately showed Anna a vial as proof of the antidote’s existence, but he refused to let her have it. He wanted Anna to set up a visit with Maxie for starters and crushed the antidote vial under his foot to taunt her.
Outside Chase’s hospital room, he woke up and saw that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) was still there. Chase admitted he’d been dreaming about Willow as Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) gazed through the window at the pair together.
Michael eventually spoke with Chase alone and came clean about the end of his attempt to try again with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). That left Chase wondering what his own chances with Willow really were.
Meanwhile, Willow warned Portia that Chase was likely downplaying the pain for her sake. Portia checked in with Chase before he got a visit from Peter, who insisted Chase was part of The Invader family and that he wanted to wish him well.
Chase ranted about Peter violating his mom’s privacy for a scandalous story and asked if that’s how Peter treats family. Peter replied that it depended on the family! When Willow reconvened with Michael, they were unsure about how to tell Chase they were back together.
As for Anna, she cornered Finn and insisted she knew what was wrong with Chase. At the firehouse dance in Nixon Falls, the sight of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in a cowboy hat caught Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) off guard.
Nina thought the look suited “Mike,” who quickly stole her away from Elijah Crowe (Dan White) for a dance.
Afterward, Nina complimented Sonny’s dance moves. “Mike” suggested that maybe he was a dancer in his old life – or maybe he just feels loose enough now to try something new.
Sonny admitted he always faced that sort of mystery now before making another admission. When Nina was out there dancing, it was the happiest “Mike” had seen her since they met.
Sonny leaned in for a kiss with Nina, but Elijah walked over and killed the mood before they could. Although Elijah wanted a dance of his own, Nina had to take a raincheck and left him alone with Sonny.
“Mike” felt like Elijah should come clean to Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) and Lenny Caulfield (Rif Hutton) about his shady past, but Elijah argued they didn’t have to be enemies. When Sonny asked who said anything about enemies, Elijah ominously said that he did.
After Elijah walked away, Nina reconvened with Sonny and agreed to share another dance with him. Over with Phyllis, she confessed to Lenny that it seemed like Sonny and Elijah’s beef was mostly about Nina.
Phyllis insisted she was trying to stay neutral just before Jax showed up hoping that Nina was still in Nixon Falls.
