General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, May 26 Recap - Jason & Britt’s Awkward Afterglow – Nina Panics Over Sonny Kiss

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, May 26, reveals that Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) was shot while Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) experienced an awkward afterglow.

Meanwhile, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) panicked over a kiss with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

At the warehouse, Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) tried to fire a shot at Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), but the gun wasn’t loaded.

Cyrus turned his gun on Brando and assured him this one indeed contained bullets. He explained that he’d always known Brando was Sonny’s plant, but he’d given Brando chance after chance to prove his loyalty.

Brando argued that Cyrus wouldn’t have shot his own mother, but Cyrus had no problems with double standards. He was prepared to shoot both Brando and Gladys, but Brando asked for a moment to say goodbye to his mom first.

After Brando told Gladys he loved her, Cyrus said time was up.

Before Cyrus could kill his hostages, Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) men came rushing in for a shootout. Gladys got shot in the shoulder, so Brando skipped going to a safehouse and carried his mom into GH soon after.

Brando panicked when he couldn’t get in touch with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson), but Carly promised she had a guard watching over Sasha.

Next, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) showed up at the hospital separately to deal with Cyrus. They scolded each other and agreed they should handle Cyrus as a team like they planned.

Ava was adamant that Cyrus had to be taken out permanently.

After Gladys was taken to surgery, Ava suggested to Nikolas that they should stick around the hospital a bit longer. She seemed quite interested in how the latest Cyrus drama would play out.

Brando was taken for questioning since Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was legally obligated to report all shooting-related injuries – and Carly gave her nod of approval.

However, Cyrus ultimately contacted Carly and fans could see that Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) was now his hostage. Cyrus argued that Carly had something he wanted, and he had something she wanted more.

At a secluded cabin, Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) woke up and panicked over her plan falling apart. She realized “Chloe Jennings” drugged her, but “Chloe” nonchalantly explained she was following Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) orders and that he’d be along soon.

“Chloe” planned to induce labor, but Maxie got a bad cramp. It seemed lucky to “Chloe,” who thought they might not have to induce at all. Maxie warned that Peter was crazy and would eliminate “Chloe” before she could ever spend the money he was paying her, but “Chloe” didn’t seem concerned.

After “Chloe” offered Maxie some tea, Maxie threw it in her face and left her in pain. Maxie then picked up a fireplace poker and prepared to strike.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) found out Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) would be staying there for a while. Brook Lynn pulled Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) aside to warn about what a disaster this would be.

Since Chase was a detective, Brook Lynn felt like he would eventually pick up on the fact that Michael and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) were still in love.

Michael acted like he was merely friends and co-parents with Willow, but Brook Lynn knew better.

Chase felt guilty over all the time Willow had spent away from Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson) at the hospital with him. After Chase thanked Michael, the cop suggested it was good they’d all be there together.

Chase also worried about Willow overextending herself for his sake, but she offered plenty of reassurance.

Brook Lynn managed to ditch Yuri the bodyguard by distracting him with a broken crib, which she had sabotaged herself.

Before Brook Lynn could leave, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) returned for Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) science book and asked if she was going somewhere.

Brook Lynn insisted she was going to see her friend, Cecilia, but Valentin wasn’t sure that was a good idea. However, Brook Lynn wound up lying about someone suspicious following her earlier and vowed not to go anywhere without Yuri.

Brook Lynn thanked Valentin for taking such good care of her and the baby – then she left once the coast was clear.

In Nixon Falls, Elijah Crowe (Dan White) became increasingly menacing as he shook Nina. Elijah thought Nina knew more about “Mike” aka Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) than she was letting on and ranted about Nina trying to ruin his life.

Sonny eventually appeared behind Elijah and knocked him out.

Later, the state trooper seemed suspicious of Nina and Sonny’s story about Elijah being the one to drop the printed documents.

Sonny felt like there was no proof about the break-in, so the trooper backed off a bit and said he’d still need their statements in the morning. Nina was grateful to Sonny for coming to her rescue.

“Mike” asked Nina not to leave him behind again and planted a steamy kiss. Nina seemed panicked in the aftermath and dodged Sonny’s attempt for kiss number two before dashing off.

At the lighthouse in Canada, Jason and Britt made love – and Jason tried to cuddle Britt when they were done. Britt eventually shot up and acted uncomfortable as she declared “that happened.”

Britt acknowledged that they were both OK with it, but it wasn’t how she expected this day to end. She awkwardly thanked Jason before walking off and leaving him on the couch looking confused.

Afterward, Britt was offended when Jason acted like she’d done enough for him. She reminded Jason that she was his accomplice and insisted she wasn’t useless just because she had the Huntington’s disease marker.

Jason reassured Britt and made it clear that he wasn’t leaving her, but General Hospital spoilers say he’ll have to keep convincing her as this storyline continues!

It sounds like Jason and Britt’s romance will bring more shockers, so stay tuned. CDL will have lots of other great General Hospital spoilers, news and updates for you, so drop by regularly.
