General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that William Lipton (Cameron Webber) recently spoke out about a big change for his character and the supportive words he’s been receiving from fans.
Since Franco Baldwin’s (Roger Howarth) cancer treatment has already resulted in some hair loss, Cam felt like a gesture of solidarity was in order.
Cameron decided to make a bold statement to Franco and his brothers so they wouldn’t be afraid of the road ahead. Of course, that led to Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) helping to shave Cameron’s head – and that also meant quite a haircut for Lipton!
Once Lipton’s long locks were gone, plenty of GH viewers reached out to him on social media to commend him for his dedication to the story. Let’s look at what Lipton had to say in his heartfelt response.
“So thankful for all your kind words of support and so grateful to be on this amazing show,” Lipton said in one of his latest tweets. I am very touched by the stories that have been shared here on Twitter in connection to this Franco’s battle with cancer. My heart goes out to you all”
In another tweet, Lipton commented on how he could finally be out in the real world again without a hat. It was tough for Lipton to keep the story shocker under wraps after filming, but now the secret’s out and Lipton can sport his new look anywhere he likes.
On Instagram, Lipton shared some new photos and suggested it was a hairdo that required “minimum effort.” “There u go!” Eden McCoy replied in the comments section.
It’s clear that Lipton, McCoy and Mikayla had a lot of fun behind the scenes, too. In a recent Instagram story, Lipton shared a video of his nervousness before the head shaving. The General Hospital star laughed about being glad that hair professionals were standing by!
Now that it’s all over and Lipton’s sporting his new look, he seems glad that the story has resonated with cancer survivors and those who have loved ones affected by cancer as well.
