In tonight’s Magnum P.I. episode, FBI Special Agent Ray Sloane approached Rick with an offer. He wanted Rick turn on his oldest friend in the world and he was making it out like Rick didn’t have a choice. He basically told Rick that he was going to hep him to take down Robbie. Robbie and Rick go way back.

They were juvenile delinquents together and Robbie even took the fall for Rick that cost him years in prison. Rick has never forgotten what Robbie did for him. Its why he doesn’t want to think much less suspect anything negative about his friend and so Magnum offered to help. Magnum was doing double duty. He was working on a case with Higgins as well as looking into Robbie for Rick. Rick just wanted answers.

Magnum was happy to provide them. But while he was doing this, he left Higgins and Kumu to finish the other case. They were hired by a woman scared her father was being taken advantage of at his retirement community. The woman talks to her father every day at least once a day and unfortunately her father was dodging her calls and so that made her suspect something was up.

Higgins needed an in into the community and that’s where Kumu came in. She went in undercover. She went by the name of Teula. She claimed she was freshly retired and meanwhile she was spying on the client’s father, Joseph. She noticed him during the group activities. He didn’t participate. He didn’t smile. He also went out of his way to ignore his daughter’s phone calls when there was nothing wrong.

At least, not physically. Kumu continued to follow him around and touched base with Higgins every once in a while. Kumu even found something. She found out that Joseph took out forty-five grand and she doesn’t know why. Kumu and Higgins broke the news to the client. Then all three confronted Joseph. Joseph confessed to his daughter that he’s been dodging her because he lost money.

He lost the forty-five grand in an investment scheme that a group went in and the person in charge was Ron. Ron used to work on Wall Street and yet he managed to lose all of their money. Ron also gave them statements that they either didn’t understand or keep. Higgins and Kumu wanted to talk to Ron and unfortunately they just missed him because he died earlier that day. Ron managed to tick off a lot of people before he died. And so his cause of death might not be old age.

Higgins called their friends at HPD. They were going to do a postmortem on Ron to determine how he died and Higgins didn’t realize until much later on that she might have made mistake. It turns out the other investors never invested more than a thousand dollars. It was just Joseph who gave up his lifesavings and that meant he had the biggest motive of all to kill Ron. Joseph was questioned. He denied killing Ron and it was murder. Someone drugged Ron with erectile disfunction medication. They did it without Ron’s knowledge and it happened late at night. They came to suspect it was his girlfriend. The same girlfriend who left her purse in his apartment. The purse belonged to Betty because Kumu remembered Betty wearing the same shade of red lipstick and the flower in her hair.

Kumu was with both Higgins and Detective Katsumoto when she realized who killed Ron. Ron had apparently invested the money and made a killing. But he told people he lost it so that he could keep it. He booked a cruise for himself and his girlfriend and he was going to take her. Sail around the world. His girlfriend like the idea of the money and all that cash. Just not going with Ron.

Betty killed him and she was later arrested boarding the cruise. Joseph’s money was returned to him along with the additional he made from Ron’s investment. He apparently doubled his savings because he wanted to leave something for his daughter and so he tried to give her the money now. And she told him that wasn’t important because she just wants him in her life.

Magnum also closed his case. He found out that Robbie did in fact kill a federal agent who was undercover and who he thought was a bad guy, but Sloane couldn’t let it go because the victim was a friend and so he went on leave to investigate and he didn’t have the actual pull to force Rick into doing anything. There was also one other bit. Sloane was being followed by the Albanians and the Albanians were looking to murder both Sloane and Robbie. And sadly they got to Robbie.

Rick had gotten him a new passport and was helping him out of the country when a car bomb killed Robbie before he could start over somewhere else.

THE END!
