In tonight’s The Bachelorette finale, the episode begins with Taysha and Kaitlyn welcoming us to the dramatic finale. At the end of last week’s episode, Katie locked herself in the bathroom and demanded the show book her a flight home. She had officially wanted to leave the show after Greg ended his relationship with her. We take a look back at Katie’s season, starting with the guys coming out of the limo and her chemistry with the men. We see Michael leave, then Greg leaves and Katie says her confidence is all gone.

Greg was somebody who she thought would be in the final two, she didn’t see it ending before that, it is all disrupted. Katie says at that moment she was defeated, you open yourself into love and you wonder if it is worth continuing on. She says she blamed herself and she begged him not to leave, she wondered afterward if she even knew Greg. She started questioning herself, her worth because back to back, men started leaving. Katie has not spoken to Greg since his leaving the show.

Blake tells the guys that he saw Greg briefly and he seemed really off. Justin doesn’t understand what is going on, he has zero clues but something doesn’t seem right. Taysha and Kaitlyn walk into the room, they tell the guys that Greg has left and Katie is emotionally devastated. The guys are surprised, they have no idea what could have happened.

It is scary for the guys not to know where they stand. Tayshia tells the guys that their journeys do continue and they will. Have the opportunity to spend uninterrupted time with Katie. Blake is trying to figure it all out in his head, but it is tough. Justin wonders if Katie is going to hold back on her feelings, is she going to have doubts about their relationship. Justin and Blake are confused about Greg’s sudden departure.

When Greg left Katie was heartbroken, she wanted to leave. But, she decided to take it one day at a time. The last thing she wants to do is head to the fantasy suites uncertain. Her first overnight date is with Blake, she can’t wait to see him, he has always been there for her. She tells Blake that they are going to have a little fun and then catch up on stuff. They are both wearing white and throw-around balloons at each other that are filled with paint. Blake takes the opportunity to kiss her while they are playing. Next, the two go into the hot tub and drink champagne.

Katie tells Blake that the week has felt like a lot. She tells him about Michael’s leaving because of his son, he had to put him first and that was pretty hard for her because she had a strong connection with him. Then Greg, whom she also had a strong relationship with, the next day he knocks on the door and decided to not be there anymore as well, that one was shocking to her.

She saw Greg being there for the overnights and being there to meet her family. She admits there was a part of her that wanted to quit, but she wants to continue to go through this. Blake says that is a lot, he smiles and kisses her. Blake is left with feelings about why would Katie want to leave if Greg left, didn’t she have any feelings for him or Justin? If she is still hung up on Greg, then he doesn’t feel like there is any reason to go through with an engagement.

Tonight is the fantasy suite for Katie and Blake, he intends on telling her that he loves her but he doesn’t know how that will be reciprocated, he doesn’t know where her head is at. He tells her that he would never tell her that he is falling in love with her and get up and leave, he doesn’t play games with love. He says he was questioned a lot at hometowns by his family, and that is when things started to come together for him.

That day and that night, he felt a lot of love from her – the way she kissed his neck, the way they look at each other, and the one part of the night that solidified it for him is when she took off her heels, played hockey and she yelled Go America with her hands up. That is when he realized that he loved her. He says it is scary to say, but he loves her and he is really scared.

Katie says she is speechless because as he is talking about the love she is thinking yes, yes – she tells him that she freakin loves him so much and couldn’t be happier that he is there. He feels so much better than all the weight is gone. Katie gives him the card for the fantasy suite; they decide to go for it.

Katie and Blake go into the fantasy suite and Katie has never been this happy, she says he completes her. Blake is so happy that they vocalized love instead of just showing it. He knows that she is his person and he is with his fiancé.

The next morning, we see Katie’s clothes strewn all over the floor, she is in bed with Blake and they are kissing. Blake tells her that it feels good to say he loves her. Last night they took a huge step expressing that they love each other. Katie says her entire day and night was perfect with Blake. The way he treats her, the way he makes her feel, they want to walk away from this together at the end of this.

Katie then sits with Kaitlyn and tells her that she was plenty satisfied many times and the two laugh. Kaitlyn is thrilled for her and says it sounds so romantic. Katie goes on to say that she was saving the “I love you” for the one, her heart officially belongs to Blake. Today, Justin has his one on one with Katie and he is excited. He is really looking forward to spending quality time with Katie, one on one. Justin admits that he is in love with Katie and he hopes that she feels the same. Katie meets up with Justin, she tells him that Greg left and that was a tough thing for her to handle, she even considered quitting the whole thing.

But, she decided that she owed it to him and Blake to see this to the end. She knows that it was hard for him to tell her that he was falling in love with her, however, she did have her overnight with Blake, and in that, she told him that she was in love with him. And, that is something she can only say to one person. She says it no longer makes sense to go on this date or have him meet her family.

Justin is heartbroken, he says that after the hometown when they had the talk, he thought maybe he should have said more. He sees what opening up can do, but now he sees the other side of that and it’s not a fun place to be. She goes on and on telling him how great he is and how great a father he will be, she is sorry but she cares about him so much that she couldn’t continue on in this process with him. He says he thinks the world of her and everything is a hundred percent true, and he hopes that Blake doesn’t take her for granted.

Justin is the last heart that she has to break, Blake is the last guy here and she hopes they are the love story that she wanted.

We go back to the studio, and Justin is sitting with Kaitlyn and Taysha live. Justin says it hurts now as much as it did then, he was blindsided.

Justin says that Katie helped him to open up, but nobody wants to feel like they were not good enough. He told her to make the decision that is best for her, and he can’t be upset that she did and it wasn’t him. He says that now watching how upset she was at the departure of Michael and Greg, he is wondering if he was just there out of default. He doesn’t feel like Katie gave him a fair shot. He hasn’t spoken to Katie since the day he left New Mexico. Katie comes on stage and sits beside Justin after she hugs him.

Justin is very emotional, he has a hard time keeping it together. With tears in his eyes, he says he has some questions. He tells her that seeing what happened with Michael and Greg, he feels like he was there by default. She says it wasn’t until the final date that he knew Blake was her person, that it clicked, she swears she didn’t know before. He says their connection, her getting him to open up, he never experienced that before and it made him a better person. His parents have seen that he is a different person because of that and he didn’t expect that. Tayshia tells them that she is happy that they got closure and it is nice to see the respect they have for each other.

We go back to Katie and Blake, he meets her with flowers and a box of chocolate. Blake is going to meet Katie’s mom and aunt Lindsey. Blake gives his mom a big hug, but his aunt is not affectionate. Lindsey sits down with Blake, she is worried that they live in different counties and have different careers. She tells him that they want him in the family if Katie does, but they don’t need him.

Meanwhile, Katie tells her mom that they don’t need each other, but they want each other. Her mother does not want Katie to need a man. Lindsey is really tough with Blake, she asks him if marriage is hard, how is he going to fix it. Every answer he has, she breaks down. Nothing he says is the right answer. Katie’s mom asks Blake if he is ready to ask her to marry him, he says he has a lot to think about. She says she is glad to meet him and she is thrilled that Katie is happy.

Blake and Katie go outside, he says it was crazy and wild. His intent was to get engaged but doing it is another thing, there is a lot that he has to take into consideration. He is stressed out after speaking to Lindsey.

Katie and Blake are going on their last date. They meet with an energy healer, on a piece of paper they write down their fears and insecurities, then burn them up to bring in new opportunities and growth. Once they write down their fears and insecurities, they read them to each other and then they burn them. Around the corner is a proposal and an engagement and Blake wants to be sure. What if he is not ready to propose? She will be devastated.

It is the final day, Katie feels so sure of a life with Blake. Meanwhile, Blake meets with Taysha to look at rings. Taysha looks at Blake, he looks so nervous. She reminds him that he wanted to risk everything to be here for Katie. He tells her that he needs a minute and gets up to walk away. He knows that he loves everything about Katie, but he feels like his mind is overrun, his mind feels like scrambled eggs. Meanwhile, Katie has no doubts that she will be leaving there with a fiancé and a ring on her finger. Taysha tells Blake that if he is not ready to do this, he needs to let Katie go.

Katie is waiting at the altar, Taysha and Kaitlyn are there to welcome Blake when he arrives. He tells them that as confident as you are, the weight of the day takes over everything – he is really nervous. Blake goes to walk towards Katie. They stand in front of each other and hold hands, a rose is on a table near them. She speaks first and says she will forever be thankful for his fighting to be there. She goes on to say wonderful things about him, and it is him and only him for her, she is the happiest woman alive, she will love him today, tomorrow, and forever.

Blake’s turn, he says he feels like they are dreaming and they are living out a fairytale. Since day one there was a connection and understanding that seemed to be good to be true, but he knew. He knew the first moment he met her and she called him trouble. Or the fact that they don’t need words to communicate at all. He knows there are things that scare her, how she had to compromise to make relationships work, but he can’t give her what she came here for, because she deserves a lot more than that. She deserves the world, he is excited to be there for her every day moving forward. That being said, he gets down on one knee and he takes out the ring, he proposes to her.

Katie gives him the final rose, Taysha and Kaitlyn join them and congratulate the happy couple. They break open a bottle of champagne and toast to the happy couple. Blake and Katie leave on horseback. Justin says that Katie helped him to open up, but nobody wants to feel like they were not good enough. He told her to make the decision that is best for her, and he can’t be upset that she did and it wasn’t him.
