The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that the role of Taylor Hayes has been recast, so Days of Our Lives alum Krista Allen is replacing Hunter Tylo. This is huge news for the soap world and will inevitably spark some big reactions.
Some B&B fans are no doubt loyal to Hunter Tylo’s version and may be resistant to the idea of someone new stepping in. However, other viewers have been begging for Taylor to come back in ANY form for quite some time!
EW first reported the recast news along with insider info about Hunter Tylo turning down the chance to reprise the role. At this point, perhaps it’s good that they finally took the plunge and just brought in another actress to take over.
In recent years, Taylor’s absence often created major story issues. Her children have been through serious catastrophes and life-altering events that Taylor should’ve been around for. It’s not fair to let the story suffer when someone else is willing to step up – and that someone is Krista Allen!
Allen deserves a chance to put her own unique spin on Taylor, so viewers should at least give her a shot and see what she brings to the table. It always takes some getting used to when a recast comes on board, but Allen may do a great job once she gets settled in.
Of course, this isn’t Allen’s first rodeo when it comes to soaps. We mentioned that she’s a Days alum, so you might remember Allen from her time playing Billie Reed back in the ‘90s.
Allen looks like she’ll be believable as Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) mother, so that’s a bonus.
Now that Allen is taking over the part, Taylor will be able to meet her grandson and namesake.
It’ll be great to see Taylor interact with Hayes Forrester Finnegan (Piper Harriot) – and you can bet she’ll stand against Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) threat to Steffy’s family with John “Finn” Finnegan (Tanner Novlan), too.
As for when Allen will first debut as a Taylor Hayes recast, The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers say her first appearance will be on December 10. We’ll keep you posted as other B&B updates come in.
