The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) has a long wait ahead of her. When Abby received her letter from Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz), she immediately feared the worst.
Abby could tell this wasn’t a regular mission. It’s something dangerous that could keep Chance away for months or even years.
Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) dismissed the possibility that Chance would be gone that long, but the truth is she has no idea when Chance will be back either. Even Y&R writers may not know for sure! Chance was written out abruptly, so things are up in the air as far as his future with Abby goes.
The only options here are killing Chance off, bringing Boaz back, eventually recasting the part or having Abby move on. It’s that last option we want to concentrate on for a moment. After all, Abby could easily start to resent Chance the longer he stays away.
This should be a happy newlywed period for Abby, but Chance just bailed for this assignment without even consulting his wife! That was a huge decision that should’ve been made by Chance and Abby as a couple.
Abby could find another reason to be glum if she ends up deciding against this surrogacy – and there are some hints that she indeed might nix the plan. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby will make a difficult choice that involves her future.
That could mean Abby will decide she can’t move forward with having a baby – not when her husband’s going to be out of the picture for who knows how long.
The birth of a child should be something Abby and Chance enjoy preparing for together. That can’t happen if Chance is gone, so Abby may resolve to wait.
The problem is Abby could end up waiting an awfully long time. As the weeks turn into months and Abby gets lonely, could she be tempted to stray? Will Abby cheat on Chance while he’s off on his mission?
It’s easy to imagine Abby meeting a new man and drifting in his direction. Then again, Abby might wind up in bed with an old love like Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Nate and Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) may not be able to make things work due to her lingering feelings for Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). It could open the door to Nate being lonely as well and winding up back in bed with Abby.
Whatever the case, Abby can’t stay single forever! She doesn’t deserve to put her life on hold indefinitely, so Abby could end up betraying Chance with another man since she’ll feel so neglected by her husband.
Whether that man winds up being Nate or someone else, it’s a reasonable story to consider under the circumstances.
