Vashland fans don’t want some horrible crime exposed that puts Ashland behind bars. Alternatively, if he committed no illegal act, then supporters of Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Ashland’s nuptials don’t want to see some moral mistake history sabotage what has been an upbeat love story.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) have questioned Ashland’s integrity. But both of Victoria’s loved ones have decided that they are not hoping for secrets to exist and then be exposed.

Did Ashland cause the death of the woman from who he purchased the television stations? That type of outcome is implied in Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) ongoing pursuit of so-called news.
If the above didn’t happen, then another plot point needs to be clarified. Ashland is not known to have had any money when he was in his early twenties. So how did he get the capital, obtain the type of credit that would have been needed, or otherwise pay for those media properties?
Young and the Restless Spoilers – If No Crimes Happened
There is another way for Victoria to call off the wedding, assuming no crimes were committed. Possibly Ashland blackmailed the lady who Billy said was many years his senior?
It could be that Ashland and that woman were romantically involved and he threatened to expose that connection. Some other form of personal duplicity could have involved her family, possibly including a daughter who was in love with him.
Ashland may have fathered a child long before Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) and then abandoned his obligation, with that offspring arriving in Genoa City, Wisconsin, and giving Victoria an earful.
Young and the Restless Spoilers – Victoria Newman Locke Or Not?
If Ashland is truly ill with cancer, then he has faced his mortality with courage. He’s also proven to be influenced by the woman he’s seemingly fallen in love with, as evidenced by his agreement to seek treatment for the disease.
Ashland could choose to fight for his future, however long that may be, with Victoria no matter what smudges are on his record. But if Ashland is not who he claims to be, then a flight from GC could happen on Y&R.
