The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chance Chancellor (Connor Floyd) and Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s first meeting could bring backlash. Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will likely object to this new dad swooping in and coming to collect his child, so let’s talk about the action ahead.
After Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) follows her heart and a hunch, she’ll eventually score a reunion with Chance.
There’ll be some twists and turns along the way, but the result will be confirmation that Chance is alive and that means he can ultimately resume his life back in Genoa City.
Of course, a lot has changed since Chance left on his lengthy mission. There’s a baby in the picture now – one that’s biologically connected to a very protective Devon.
Y&R fans know Devon isn’t too happy with Chance for bailing on Abby and their child all these months.
Devon doesn’t consider Chance to be some great hero and is upset with him for taking such a dangerous mission when he had just committed to building a family with Abby.
In fact, Devon has gone as far as to vow a lecture if Chance somehow managed to survive.
Devon doesn’t really think Chance is alive, but he’s definitely prepared to unleash his wrath in the event of a miraculous return.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say a miraculous return is indeed coming up, which means Chance will want to raise Dominic with Abby like they planned.
Chance will look forward to meeting his new adopted son, but Devon could have a big problem with Chance just showing up to take the kid away.
Devon may think Dominic has to ease out of his old routine and may argue that the baby’s not going to be comfortable with a stranger.
Due to the decision Chance made to put work above all else, Dominic won’t have any sense of familiarity or trust with him.
That could leave Devon even more protective than usual as he keeps his promise to give Chance a piece of his mind. As other news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
