The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may kiss on New Year’s Eve. Sparks could fly after a major confession, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
Y&R fans know Chelsea has been struggling with regrets and thoughts about what might’ve been.
Chelsea can’t stop flashing back to romantic times with Adam and mulling over the life they were going to build together. It’s clear that Chelsea would give anything to get that life together back on track.
Adam has been trying to set some firm boundaries with Chelsea and make her see that separate paths is the right call.
Adam’s hoping to successfully co-parent with Chelsea and perhaps find a way to friendship, but he doesn’t want to get tangled up in a renewed romance.
Of course, the harder Adam pushes Chelsea away, the more likely it becomes they’ll get back together after all.
There are bound to be some close moments as Chelsea and Adam continue to spend time with Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) – especially with New Year’s Eve just around the corner.
Chelsea messed up by framing Adam for poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso), but she wasn’t in a good place mentally at the time. Adam has made his own mistakes over the years, so Chelsea’s transgressions aren’t unforgivable here.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) warned Adam that Chelsea was toxic for him, so that warning could honestly make Chelsea more tempting in Adam’s eyes.
Adam doesn’t like it when Victor butts in his love life, so it could lead to Adam developing an “I’ll show you” mentality where he ignores Victor and does what he wants.
Regardless, New Year’s Eve often brings some sizzle on soaps – and Adam will indeed have some scenes alone with Chelsea at the penthouse on December 30.
That’ll serve as a New Year’s Eve episode since the show’s set to be preempted on December 31.

Chelsea may put everything on the line by sharing the depth of what she feels for Adam.
Chelsea might hope that if she can truly convey her enduring love, Adam will see things her way and surrender on the idea of a reunion.
Whether Chelsea gets her wish or not, it’s easy to imagine her diving in for a kiss under the circumstances.
If that’s not what happens, then Y&R obviously doesn’t know how to deliver soapy moments anymore.
Every New Year’s Eve episode deserves a midnight kiss or two!
There’s no drama if Adam and Chelsea just stand around talking, so let’s hope Chelsea steals a smooch after confessing to him.
