The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Connor Floyd has been cast as the new Chance Chancellor and will replace Donny Boaz in the role. Based on strong buzz and recent Instagram follows from Y&R-related accounts, it looks like a done deal that Floyd has signed on as a Chance recast.
The most telling Instagram follow is from Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor), who’ll obviously be Floyd’s main costar. There are other cast members following Floyd as well, so it seems they’re already giving him a warm welcome at the show.
Y&R fans know Abby recently got the horrible news that Chance’s building was bombed – and his family heirloom watch was found in the rubble. However, Abby just doesn’t “feel” that Chance is really dead.
Abby also pointed out that Chance wouldn’t have been wearing a watch that could identify him while undercover, so she has her doubts that he was even in that building.
Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) was less hopeful that Abby’s gut feeling was correct, but Chance’s wife knows best!
Abby obviously has a deep connection to Chance and can tell he’s still out there somewhere. Although Abby may waver somewhat based on what she’s been told, part of her will always hold out hope.
Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) offered an Instagram hint of her own when she posted a now deleted photo, which appeared to feature a welcome home party for Chance at The Grand Phoenix.
Chance’s name was clearly visible as part of the decorations, so he’s indeed on his way back to Genoa City soon.
Now all signs point to Connor Floyd being the one who steps in Chance’s shoes. There’ll no doubt be some fans who are bummed about Donny Boaz being replaced, but recasts are just part of the soap world.
Floyd looks like he’ll be a great fit, so he deserves a shot at delivering his own unique take on the role.
