The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Faith Newman’s (Reylynn Caster) kidney transplant storyline has some fans wondering about the possibility of a shocking twist. Y&R fans know Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) shares the same rare blood type as Faith, so he’s in the position to save Faith’s life once again.
Of course, this storyline started after the Adam exposé came out, which led to Faith getting bullied over the switcheroo when she was a baby. Faith grew angrier and angrier with Adam as the story moved along – especially when Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) got caught kissing her former flame.
There’s been an intriguing tie throughout this storyline between Adam and Faith. It was cemented even further when Adam was the one who risked all and came to Faith’s rescue following her truck crash.
Now Adam’s going to give Faith a kidney and come through for her when she needs him most.
Could all of this add up to Adam being Faith’s biological father instead of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow)? It’s a theory that has plenty of Young and the Restless fans buzzing on social media.
We have to acknowledge this would be a major rewrite and wouldn’t necessarily line up with Y&R history. However, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time The Young and the Restless writers ignored history for the sake of a current storyline.
That happens quite frequently on a soap – like when Hilary Curtis Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) ended up having Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) for a twin or when Adam suddenly had a deadly childhood secret Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) had never used against him.
Soap operas have to keep finding new ways to entertain fans, so they have to bend the facts sometimes and focus on what will deliver the best drama NOW. There’s no denying the dramatic potential of Adam being revealed as Faith’s bio dad.
Nick would loathe his brother even more – and it would be a huge bombshell for Faith to try to process. Not to mention Adam and Sharon would be more connected than ever!
Faith would still be a Newman and would remain within the same family, but a paternity change would shake this clan up in a big way.
Naturally, that’s not a rewrite that would go over very well with many Y&R viewers. Most of us like Sharon and Nick as parents to Faith, so The Young and the Restless would be taking a massive risk with a bio dad shocker like this.
Nevertheless, it’s an option to consider since soaps are known for twists like this – plus, it’d keep this Adam-Faith theme going strong. As other Y&R news and updates emerge, we’ll keep you posted.
