The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) may put up a custody fight for Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor. This bio dad may go up against Chance Chancellor (soon-to-be Connor Floyd) after his shocking return, so let’s mull over this tricky situation.
Devon helped bring Dominic into the world and felt a strong connection to him from the very beginning. Y&R has painted a picture of Devon as a devoted dad, even if he’s not currently using that title.
Devon consistently steps up to put Dominic first and has been portrayed as the baby whisperer who can almost always calm his biological son down.
Of course, Devon also blames Chance for abandoning Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor when they were about to start a family.
Even though Chance is presumed dead, Devon had no problem trashing him for putting himself in grave danger. He’s furious since Dominic doesn’t have a father now.
Devon basically held Chance responsible for his own death – though he previously promised to give Chance a piece of his mind if he did miraculously show back up.
The November 8 episode will also bring concerns about Abby since she’ll be ready to travel into the same perilous area for Chance info.
Devon will once again feel like Dominic is being abandoned for a dangerous mission that’s just so uncalled for. Although Abby may not actually end up going on the Spain trip, the point stands that Devon is the one acting like a real parent, not Chance or Abby.
Devon signed off on being a sperm donor, but that agreement may go right out the window down the road. We’re talking about a billionaire who has plenty of money to fight for custody rights in court and exploit every possible loophole.
Abby will get the happy reunion she’s dreaming of when Chance is indeed found alive. However, Devon should rip into Chance as promised eventually and could decide to go after custody himself.
There may be some other incidents along the way that contribute to Devon’s anger and set the stage for him to pursue legal ties to Dominic as his true father. Whether Devon succeeds or fails, it’s a soapy route that could result in some great drama.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon and Chance will definitely do some sparring once the back-from-the-dead bombshell happens.
