The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) may vow to be Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s dad after the news of Chance Chancellor’s (last played by Donny Boaz) death. Could this be what sparks a major turning point between Dominic’s biological father and Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway)?
Y&R fans know Devon has been a great friend to Abby while Chance has been away on his assignment.
Devon was there for Abby while pregnant Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) was missing – and he was the first one to decide Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) wasn’t as helpful as he seemed.
Of course, Devon also helped Abby deliver the baby once Mariah was rescued. He even showed up for Abby when Mariah went MIA with Dominic during that walk on the grounds.
Now Devon is supporting Abby through her guilt over Mariah’s struggles and pitching in with Dominic more often.
Abby’s feeling a bit in over her head on her own, so she’s loved having Devon to lean on and calm her down.
Devon is always the voice of reason and reassurance, so that’s been especially important during Dominic’s latest bout of congestion.
The show is really building up Abby and Devon’s bond, so this friendship could be on the verge of heading into romantic territory.
Chance has been out of the picture for quite some time and things may get worse before they get better in Abby’s fragile marriage.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Abby will face some startling news that throws her life into a tailspin.
Chance might end up presumed dead – and that could give Abby the green light to surrender to what she’s feeling with Devon.
Abby and Devon could both latch onto the idea of a happy family together, especially once Devon vows to step up and be a true dad to Dominic.
After all, that’d probably be Devon’s first move to comfort Abby in the case of Chance’s presumed death.
Devon might assure Abby that Dominic will still have a dad and hope that gives her some solace during the storm of grief ahead.
As Devon comforts Abby, it could lead to their relationship shifting in a more romantic direction.
Naturally, this is the prime setup for Chance to actually show up alive down the road – perhaps just in time for a Christmas miracle!
