The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Doug Davidson Slams Y&R for Treating Paul Like Day Player – Thinks He’s Done In Genoa City

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that one CBS soap star is speaking out about the lack of respect for his character. Y&R fans know Doug Davidson as Paul Williams in Genoa City, but he isn’t seen much these days – and Davidson doesn’t see that changing anytime soon.

In fact, Davidson is considering just moving on from the show entirely and giving up on the battle for airtime.

Davidson responded to a fan who was upset with the way Y&R’s been treating Paul, so let’s look at what was said. “In all seriousness, maybe it’s time to pull up stakes and pursue other ventures. It’s clear you’re not being respected,” the fan insisted.

“I’m coming to the same conclusion,” Davidson replied. When another viewer assured Davidson that his fans weren’t tired of fighting for him, Davidson admitted he felt differently about his own situation. “I’m tired,” Davidson said.

That led to criticism from a different fan, who blamed The Young and the Restless Head Writer and Co-Executive Producer Josh Griffith for not featuring Paul and other older actors. However, Davidson quickly piped up to argue that he thinks Sony and CBS direct Griffith on what to do.

Whatever the case, Davidson is fed up with not getting a story or even very many episodes. He admitted she doesn’t think the show will learn to value him as a performer and suggested it might be time to just call it quits.

“I just want to thank you again for all your support,” Davidson said in another angry tweet slamming The Young and the Restless. “But I think I am done. After 43 years I am treated like a day player. No bueno.”

Of course, this isn’t the first time Davidson has spoken out about his problems with Y&R. There have been multiple instances where Davidson acted like he was fired or that he wouldn’t be back.

It seems likely Davidson will cool off and still show up the next time he’s called to set, but we’ll see how it goes.

Regardless, Davidson isn’t happy about the treatment he’s receiving as a beloved vet of the show and has chosen to voice his complaints publicly again. How do you feel about the whole Paul situation?
