The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, July 23 Recap – Ashland Collapses – Sharon’s Bad Boy Complex

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Friday, July 23, reveals that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will collapse and refuse the hospital while Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) gets a reminder about her bad boy complex. Let’s talk about what’s coming up in Friday’s thrilling Y&R episode.

At Crimson Lights, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will be in a great mood, but he’ll act like he spoke too soon when he spots Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) on the patio.

Billy will wonder why Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) allows riffraff like that in her fine establishment, but she’ll argue that one person’s riffraff is another’s valued customer.

Sharon will remind Billy that Adam was framed for poisoning Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). She’ll ask if Billy’s considered the idea that he might’ve misjudged Adam in other ways.

Billy will shut down that idea and will insist that Adam drove Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) to the point of madness.

Sharon will think Adam has made legitimate changes in his life. She’ll question why Billy’s mistakes are forgivable but not Adam’s.

Billy will argue that Adam isn’t even repentant, but Sharon will disagree on that.

After Billy reminds Sharon that Adam took his daughter’s life forever, he’ll suggest there are better ways to spend her time and energy than defending “that snake.”

Next, Billy will mosey over to Adam’s table and gloat about him being all alone. He’ll think it’s for the best that Chelsea took Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) with her.

Billy will insist that Adam’s playing the good guy because he’s worming his way back into Sharon’s life.

Billy will argue that if Adam were genuinely a changed man, he’d realize Sharon was better off without him.

Billy will feel like Adam needs to end his sick obsession and leave Sharon alone, but Adam will act like Billy’s the one with the obsession.

Adam will contend that Billy wouldn’t be able to justify his vendetta if he believed Adam had turned over a new leaf. Billy won’t be happy that all this misunderstood victim “crap” works on Sharon and will leave in a huff.

Afterward, Sharon will join Adam and hear about his tense confrontation with Billy. Adam will admit that Billy accused him of putting on an act for Sharon’s sake.

Sharon won’t understand why anyone would think she’d be so gullible. She’ll point out that she was the only one who was right about Adam not being responsible for Rey’s poisoning.

Adam won’t deny that Sharon’s opinion matters to him, but he’ll make it clear he’s not trying to win her back. Sharon will be surprised when Adam suggests she always found his wilder side more compelling anyway.

Sharon will get flustered and act like she doesn’t know where Adam would’ve gotten that idea – not when she was always trying to get him on a healthier path.

Adam will see Sharon’s point and will suggest that she’s clearly over whatever thing she previously had for bad boys.

Adam won’t think Rey’s got a dark side at all, so Sharon will nervously insist all she ever wanted as a guy in a white hat.

At home, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) will fill Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in on how he needs to take a trip back to New York. He’ll talk about settling his affairs and convince Victoria to come along.

Later, Victoria will show up at the coffeehouse, where Adam will suggest that she exploited a business partner she could get rid of quickly.

Adam will find it rather ghoulish and will think Victoria is quite the manipulator despite the image she wants to present.

Victoria will find that preposterous and will add that Adam has always underestimated her. She’ll think that’s foolish considering she’s the one Adam should fear most.

Adam will flash back to that black-and-white chess dream he had, which brought a similar comment from Victoria.

When Victoria senses Adam’s discomfort, she’ll think it’s good to know she can get under his skin.

Once Adam’s back at the office, he’ll call Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in Milan. Adam will mention having an interesting encounter with Victoria earlier that gave him an idea to run by Victor.

Back at Victoria’s place, she’ll come home to find that Ashland has collapsed on the floor. Once Ashland is awake and alert, Victoria will scold him for not letting her call an ambulance.

Ashland will assure Victoria that it wasn’t a heart attack and won’t want to waste time getting poked and prodded at the hospital. He’ll think this is all connected to stress and anxiety instead.

Victoria will note that she thought she was helping take some of the pressure off Ashland. She’ll worry she’s done the opposite with the stressful merger, so she’ll ask if Ashland thinks it was a mistake.

At Billy and Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) place, Lily will find out Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) still has a stomachache.

Johnny will ask if Lily can stay home with him, so she’ll play cards with him and answer some questions about sick Ashland.

Lily will assure Johnny that no one’s going to catch Ashland’s illness, but she’ll seem uneasy when Johnny asks if Ashland will get better.

Lily will point out that the doctors are doing everything they can and add that’s certainly what Johnny’s mom wants. Johnny will smile as he says he hopes Lily and Billy always stay together.

When Billy comes home, he’ll smile when he finds Johnny asleep on the sofa and Lily napping on the floor.

Later, Lily will tell Billy about the awkward Ashland discussion, so he’ll know they’ll have to find a way to explain things to Johnny.

At Society, Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) will interrupt Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Elena Dawson’s (Brytni Sarpy) breakfast together. Imani will talk about seeing Nate’s handsome face last night and will be glad to see it again this morning.

After the topic of Imani’s job offer comes up, Elena will mention that she got career advice from Nate, too.

Elena will point out that she passed up an opportunity in Baltimore since Nate wanted her to stay right by his side. Imani will suggest that’s such a sweet story, though she obviously won’t mean it.

Imani will also bring Nate up to speed on getting Naya Benedict (Ptosha Storey) to come around on recanting her confession. She’ll think that once Nate gets to know her better, he’ll learn that she can be very persuasive.

Once the interloper is gone, Elena will ask if Nate really hasn’t noticed Imani hitting on him.

Nate will downplay it and act like Imani is just a little flirtatious. “A little?” Elena will ask. Her tone will be more about teasing Nate than anything – and she’ll even drop a hint about hitting the sheets later.

At Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) penthouse, he’ll find out that Imani thinks she got through to Naya. Amanda will explain that Naya is on her way back to Genoa City and is supposedly ready to recant.

That said, Amanda won’t think even the recording can convince Naya of Sutton Ames’ (Jack Landron) guilt.

After Amanda leaves, Moses Winters (Jacob Aaron Gaines) will talk to Devon about potentially checking out other career options.

When Nate drops by later, he’ll learn Moses wants to cut back on hospital volunteer work so he can spend more time at the studio with Devon.

Moses won’t want to upset Nate, but Nate will insist he’s just surprised. He’ll ask Moses to give him some time to think before they talk again.

Back with Elena, she’ll chat with Sharon at Crimson Lights about the positive developments in their romances. However, Sharon will end up grumbling about Rey escorting Chelsea and offering glowing progress updates.

Sharon will think it’s unfair that Rey still places so much blame on Adam. Elena will just hope the assignment’s over soon so that Rey can come home to Sharon.

At Society again, Michael will find Amanda, Imani and Naya together. When Michael speaks with Amanda alone, he’ll suggest Naya seems to think she’s letting Sutton down.

Michael will point out that it’d be helpful if Naya cooperated with the newly opened Sutton investigation.

Afterward, Naya will warn that she’s already conflicted about recanting and will have nothing to do with the investigation into her father.

Naya won’t believe Sutton is capable of murder and will refuse to implicate him in Richard Nealon’s death.

As other Y&R news emerges, we’ll bring you more details. The Young and the Restless spoilers say some curveballs are still to come as Amanda works to bring Sutton down.
