The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) may want Daddy Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Mommy together, so we could see him push Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) toward his bio dad after losing Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi).
Y&R fans know Harrison adores his father, so the kid’s going to be crushed over Ashland’s looming death. Ashland only has six months to live and is currently refusing treatment that might extend his life.
If nothing changes, Ashland could indeed slip away within six months – leaving Harrison feeling lost without the father he’s known since birth.
Of course, this could make Harrison latch onto Kyle even further as a source of comfort. Harrison might become clingy and decide he likes all the family moments he’s been sharing with Kyle as well as Tara.
Harrison just about at the age where he can create a bit of a parent trap, even if he doesn’t exactly mean to.
Harrison will face a painful loss that’ll be tough to understand at such a young age. He’ll grow closer to Kyle between now and then, so it could leave Harrison scared that he’ll lose Daddy like Father.
There’ll be opportunities for Harrison to grow more attached to Kyle, so that’ll pull Kyle closer to Tara as they try to help their son cope.
It’s easy to imagine Harrison wanting to do more activities with both his parents and liking the idea of them all being a united family.
The problem is Summer Newman (Hunter King) may not feel like she fits in all this. Summer may wind up feeling like she’s on the outside of Kyle’s new fam with Tara and Harrison.
Things could get even worse once Ashland dies and potentially leaves Harrison fixated on making sure Daddy doesn’t leave him, too.
Harrison will have some good reasons to want Kyle extremely close. He’ll struggle and need more support than ever, so this could lead to some Summer trouble.
We’ve seen the show do stories where kids wanted their parents together before – like when Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) was obsessed with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) reuniting with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
Maybe it’s time for another spin on that story with Harrison at the center of it.
