The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) could have a crushing blow in his future. Y&R fans know Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) admitted Harrison Locke was Kyle’s son, but Summer Newman (Hunter King) expressed doubts early on.
However, Kyle didn’t see why Tara would lie about it and has always been quick to defend his trust in his former flame. There’s always this argument of “You don’t know her like I do” when it comes to Tara.
All of this seems suspicious and could be the setup for a twist in the paternity storyline.
After all, we can assume that if Tara indeed had a paternity test done, she simply checked to see if Harrison’s DNA was a match for Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi). Tara presumably didn’t have access to a sample from Kyle, so that’s important to keep in mind.
Even if Tara really did get paternity test results, they only prove that Ashland isn’t the father – not that Kyle is the real bio dad. Since Tara is a cheater who was betraying her husband at the time, what if she was sleeping with other men, too?
There’s the potential for Harrison’s true father to be someone else, especially based on the casting choice for Harrison. It seems like Y&R chose a little boy for the photo who looks just like Tara and nothing like Kyle.
Perhaps it’s another hint to set up the news that Kyle isn’t the father after all.
Of course, we have to wonder who actually fathered Harrison if it wasn’t Kyle or Ashland. Could it be some random guy or maybe someone viewers already know? The Young and the Restless spoilers say there could be much more to the story.
Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) was the one who first brought Harrison to Kyle’s attention and helped Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) by offering this dirt. It’d be an exciting and unexpected twist if Theo turned out to be Harrison’s father in the end.
The Young and the Restless has always talked about how competitive Theo and Kyle were – even in their younger, wild days in New York. It’s reasonable to think Theo might’ve wanted to make Tara his own conquest since he knew Kyle was interested in her.
Theo might’ve even secretly asked Tara and got a denial that the child was his. He may not have pushed the issue if they only hooked up once – figuring the odds were in Kyle’s favor anyway since he had a full-blown affair with Tara.
Once Theo felt certain that he wasn’t the bio dad, he might’ve moved forward with his plan to use this as dirt on Kyle.
Tara may just be choosing to believe Kyle is the “baby daddy” based on paternity evidence that Harrison doesn’t have Ashland’s DNA. She’d rather have Kyle as her son’s true father than Theo!
The point is there are ways of explaining this and making Theo the father if that’s how The Young and the Restless writers want to take things. Do you think it’d be an intriguing twist if Harrison belonged to Theo instead of Kyle?
