The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will explode over Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) moving Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor in the penthouse. Mariah will be jealous over this bio dad’s baby bonding, so let’s talk about what’s ahead.
So far, Mariah has tried to act like her concerns are purely for Dominic’s well-being. She quickly offered to move back in when Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) was threatening to go off on a dangerous mission to Spain.
Mariah tried to assure Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) that she was merely concerned about Dominic and wanted to support him, but there’s more to it than that.
Deep down, Mariah is still wishing she could serve as Dominic’s mother. She knows that’s not rational or right, but she’s seeing her chance to slide in that role now.
Of course, it’s not going to happen, but there are some changes coming up in Dominic’s world that are sure to catch Mariah off guard.
Y&R spoilers say Devon will let Abby know he’s worried about all the tension at the Chancellor mansion.
Devon will propose taking Dominic out of that environment, so it sounds like Devon will volunteer to watch over Dominic until Abby’s through the worst of her grief.
Abby should eventually get on board with that plan since there are some happy scenes on the way of Devon and Dominic at the penthouse.
Devon has a bond with this baby as his biological father, but he’s also Dominic’s godfather. Since Devon desperately wants to love and protect Dominic, he’ll be more than willing to care for him while Abby’s unable to.
Naturally, Mariah may think this is unfair since it was never the plan for Devon to serve as Dominic’s true dad.
Mariah will no doubt feel like that’s happening now – and Abby may even take steps to make it official soon.
Devon has been stepping up as a father in every sense of the word, so Abby may see no reason to hold back that title with Chance Chancellor (soon-to-be Connor Floyd) gone.
Meanwhile, Mariah will spiral out of control again – leaving Tessa to ask Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) for help handling his sister.
Mariah’s maternal pull to Dominic is awfully strong, so it’ll be hard for her to watch Devon essentially take on daddy duty and move the baby in with him.
