The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will be jealous of Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Noah Newman’s (Rory Gibson) bond, so she may fear these exes will reunite as her old insecurities flare up.
Y&R fans know Mariah has always been the jealous type, so it’s not surprising that she’ll have a problem with the way Noah and Tessa have reconnected. So far, nothing inappropriate has happened at all. It’s just been about renewed friendship and lending an ear in times of trouble.
It’s possible the show truly intends on letting something happen between Noah and Tessa, but it seems doubtful under the circumstances. They’d get major backlash considering Tessa has declared herself gay. Ignoring that label would be a big no-no, so it’s just hard to believe Y&R will actually go there.
This storyline feels more like another version of the whole Tanner Watts (Chase Coleman) situation. Tanner was Tessa’s ex-husband, but their reconnection was about friendship and working together on tour.
That didn’t stop Mariah from driving herself crazy thinking Tessa was cheating on her or at least wanted to be with Tanner. Mariah was the one who wound up betraying Tessa with Lindsay (Kirby Bliss Blanton) in the end, which left Tessa devastated and Mariah deeply remorseful.
It’s also why Tessa might become unbelievably frustrated if Mariah’s jealousy leads to accusations. Tessa may start to wonder if Mariah is ever going to trust her. She might also remind Mariah that she was only with Noah because she was trying to marry into the Newman family and get money out of a divorce!
Tessa flat-out said on the show that she only pretended to love Noah, so there’s not much of a spark to renew. Of course, Noah doesn’t know that at this point, so it’d be awfully dramatic if he overheard Mariah and Tessa bring it up during a fight.
Regardless, Tessa does care about Noah as a friend – and Mariah seems poised to misinterpret that starting the week of November 29-December 1. Tessa has asked Noah to do the cover art for her new album, so he’ll get on board and leave Tessa delighted.
In a new extended preview video, Tessa tells Noah that she’s so excited and adds that it’s going to be so much fun. Noah replies that he’s already inspired, so grinning Tessa is eager to get to work. Mariah, on the other hand, doesn’t look too happy over the smiles and bond that’s on full display.
Even if Noah perhaps wants more than friendship, Tessa seems committed to Mariah and their future. This feels more like another case of Mariah letting her old insecurities get the best of her, so we’ll see how “Teriah” handles this bump in the road.
