The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Monday, August 23 Update – Victoria's Strange Reaction - Billy’s Ashland Wedding Sabotage

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, August 23, teases that Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will uncover Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) wedding sabotage while CEO Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) stands up to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Let’s talk about what’s coming up in Monday’s Y&R episode.

At home, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will have a strange reaction to Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) big surprise. After some talk about the merger being finalized in a month, Ashland will reveal the design of their new headquarters.

Victoria will gape over a rendering that features a new Locke tower to match the Newman tower and will express her shock over Ashland’s grand plans.

Although Victoria will pretend she likes what Ashland came up with, her face and body language will tell a different story.

Meanwhile, Adam will tell Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) good morning at Society, but she’ll wonder what’s good about it!

Sally will know she’s supposed to be polite and charming with her new boss, but she’ll be so mad she could scream.

Adam will find out Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) sent Sally a hotel bill with a ton of extra charges – even for something as simple as towels.

Sally will mention something about getting payback, but Adam will do his best to steer her away from revenge. In Adam’s experience, it’s never as satisfying as you imagine it to be.

Adam will think Sally’s got a sweet gig where she’s appreciated now and will urge her to let success be her revenge instead.

Afterward, Sally will listen in on Victoria’s chat with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and will type some notes in her phone about the bride’s desired gown design.

Once Sally heads to the park, she’ll try to conceal what she’s working on when Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) comes along.

Chloe won’t be thrilled over Sally taking Adam’s advice earlier and will suspect her new hire’s not being honest about her current project.

Sally will ultimately come clean about the wedding dress she plans to design for Victoria. She’ll think it could be a great thing for her personally as well as for Newman Media’s fashion platform.

Chloe will doubt Victoria’s going to be on board due to how Sally treated Summer Newman (Hunter King), but Sally will talk about all the times people have told her she couldn’t do something over the years.

That kind of thing only strengthens Sally’s resolve to go after what she wants.

Victoria will try to dodge the topic when Nikki brings up the role Ashland intends to play after the wedding and honeymoon.

Victoria will seem somewhat anxious – and that trend will continue when Victoria goes home and looks at Ashland’s plans for their corporate headquarters again.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will give Billy a nudge toward using ChancComm’s resources to look into Ashland’s history.

However, Nick won’t really think Billy needs much of one since he seems pretty determined to derail this wedding.

Lily will eventually bust Billy researching Ashland’s past on his laptop. She’ll assume Billy’s on the hunt for unforgiveable dirt that’ll lead to Victoria calling off the wedding.

After Victor speaks with one of his employees about digging into Ashland’s background, he’ll confront Adam about a discovery he made.

Victor won’t be pleased over Adam trying to poach Newman-Locke employees that have relocated to Genoa City, so he’ll try to shut it down.

Adam will argue that he’s not twisting anyone’s arm and won’t think they should pass up interested talent. He’ll just be offering stability to people who’d otherwise be stuck in transition mode.

Furthermore, Adam won’t like the fact that Victor’s overstepping as an advisor.

Adam will remind his father that he’s the CEO and can take or leave the advice he’s given.

Victor will seem a hint proud of Adam for standing up to him, but they’ll exchange warnings about keeping their personal feelings out of their plans for the company.

At The Grand Phoenix, Ashland will seek out Phyllis and push for some help getting Nick on his side.

Ashland will hope Phyllis can make Nick understand that he’s found the rare commodity of love with Victoria and that alone is driving this push to get married.

When Nick drops by the lobby later, Phyllis will think he’d be wise to back off.

Phyllis will contend that it’s none of Nick’s business and point out that Victoria is truly in love. Besides, it’s not like Nick’s going to talk Victoria out of this anyway.

Nick will imply that Phyllis is a hypocrite for telling him not to meddle, but he’ll agree she’s got probably got the right idea.

Since Billy is so intent on thwarting the nuptials, Nick will think Victoria’s ex can be the one to destroy her happiness and take the heat.

We’ll provide updates as other Y&R news becomes available. The Young and the Restless spoilers say Ashland’s going down one way or another, so stay tuned!
