The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that there could be signs of new trouble for Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King).
Summer has had a very mature reaction to Kyle’s news about Harrison Locke and his father status. Although Kyle lied to Summer for a while, Summer moved past his deception quickly and worked to see things from Kyle’s perspective.
Although it was a lot for Summer to wrap her head around, she refused to bail on Kyle when he needed her most. Summer’s willing to tackle this as a team, so we’re seeing real growth in Summer and in “Skyle” as a couple.
However, that doesn’t mean old doubts and insecurities won’t present a problem as this story moves forward. We’re already seeing some warning signs now that Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) is in town.
When Kyle talked to Tara about the massive secret they’re keeping from Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), he suggested it was kind of like they were in this together. Tara disagreed, but that was a weird thing for Kyle to say.
Kyle didn’t have any contact with Tara for years while she kept Harrison’s paternity a secret – and now she’s pushing Kyle to keep his distance from his own flesh and blood.
There’s nothing about this scenario that would suggest Tara and Kyle are really in this together at all.
After Summer met Tara, she admitted she couldn’t take her eyes off the woman Kyle had risked it all for. Summer knows Kyle thought he loved Tara once upon a time.
Y&R writers seem to be setting up some concerns for Summer about Kyle’s former flame. Those concerns could grow stronger after the truth about Harrison comes out.
Kyle may end up comforting Tara if Ashland crushes her like she’s predicted. Tara fears disaster if the secret is exposed – and The Young and the Restless spoilers confirm it’ll indeed be exposed. What happens once Tara’s perhaps leaning on Kyle in the aftermath?
Kyle may assure Tara that he’ll be there for Harrison. That could provide some comfort if Ashland abandons the kid in the fallout of the paternity drama.
Summer could become increasingly threatened by Summer and Kyle’s connection depending on how this plays out.
We could see Summer’s previous insecurities come rushing back as she fears Kyle will leave her for Tara. It could be a situation similar to the one we saw with Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) – except worse this time because Kyle has a child with Tara to tie them together forever.
