The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) could take a truly vicious turn if Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) fears come true.
From the get-go, all Y&R fans have heard about Ashland is how ruthless and vindictive he can be. That goes for in business and in Ashland’s personal life. Ashland is more than willing to blur the lines and seek total destruction.
However, Kyle’s less focused on himself and more worried about the other people Ashland might target due to his old affair with Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner).
On the Wednesday, April 21 episode, Kyle asks if he should be concerned about Tara or even Harrison Locke. There’s a sense of genuine alarm from Kyle about what Ashland might do in retaliation, so this is turning into a safety issue.
Tara believes she can look out for herself and her son, but she may be quite literally dead wrong about that! Is there a chance Kyle’s concern about Tara’s safety means she’s a dead woman walking? Could Tara lose her life as a result of all the Ashland drama blowing up?
Tara hasn’t come right out and said it, but it seems like Ashland is an abusive husband in many ways. That may be part of what led Tara to stray and seek comfort in Kyle’s bed back in New York. The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest the depths of Ashland’s dark side haven’t been fully revealed just yet.
We at least know Ashland is emotionally abusive due to the mind games he plays, but there’s something about Tara’s whole vibe and demeanor that suggests Ashland has the potential to be physically abusive, too.
Now that Kyle’s so worried about Tara being in some kind of danger, it increases the likelihood that Ashland will target Tara – and things could certainly take a terrible turn.
Of course, Ashland doesn’t have confirmation yet on Harrison’s paternity. At this point, Ashland’s anger is erupting over the affair alone – an affair that’s been over for years at this point.
We don’t deny that Ashland has the right to be upset, but his vengeful rage is extreme and could be a sign that the situation will spiral out of control due to the Harrison bio dad shocker.
If Ashland is this angry now, what will it be like once he knows Kyle is Harrison’s father? Tara’s already been panicked, so we have to believe this situation is going to get much worse.
Ashland could easily kill Tara in a moment of unbridled fury and cover it up – or perhaps arrange for Tara to meet an untimely end in some “accident.”
Whatever the case, Kyle’s comment of concern for Tara and their son is troubling. It feels ominous and should leave Y&R viewers anxious to see just how bad things will get for Tara down the road.
If Tara dies under suspicious circumstances, that could certainly give Kyle a reason to seek full custody of Harrison! We’ll offer updates as other news becomes available.
