The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Thursday, July 1 Recap – Jack Drinks with Sally – Stitch Invites Abby to Party – Victoria Heads to LA

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Thursday, July 1, reveals that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will decide to drink with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) while Ben “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) invites Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) to a party. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) will also head to LA, so here’s what’s in store on Thursday’s Y&R episode.

In Victoria’s office, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will point out that he heard Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) say he wasn’t dead yet. Victoria will try to play it off as a dark joke, but Victor won’t buy it.

He’ll suggest he’s concerned about Victoria getting into a complicated relationship, but Victoria will think Victor’s curious due to Ashland’s valuable empire.

Victoria will argue that it’s none of Victor’s business – whether she wants to be friends with Ashland, have an affair with him or even marry the man.

“I just wish everyone would butt the hell out of my life!” Victoria will shout as Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) enters.

After Victor exits, Nikki will wonder if Victoria told her father about the possibility of folding Locke Communications into Newman Enterprises. Victoria will snap that of course she didn’t and will wonder what Nikki’s getting at.

Nikki will admit she’s worried that if Victor gets confirmation on Ashland’s illness, he could make an offer or even go for a hostile takeover.

That’d put Victoria and Victor at odds once again. Victoria won’t be afraid of that and will think she’s holding all the cards, but Nikki won’t be so sure.

Victoria will insist she’s going to close the deal, but Nikki won’t think she can count on Ashland to keep his word.

Despite Victoria’s new friendship with Ashland, Nikki will worry Ashland will change his mind once he comes to grips with his mortality – or that maybe he just likes to play games.

Victoria won’t think so when it’s a literal matter of life and death, but Nikki will ask if she knows that for a fact. “Is there a treatment available?” Nikki will ask. She’ll suggest that for all they know, Ashland has every intention of beating his illness.

Nikki will even suggest that Ashland loves the thrill of the chase and might be using his company to draw Victoria closer.

Victoria will stammer about how she knows Ashland better than Nikki, but Nikki won’t think it’s wise to be so confident. Once Victoria is alone, she’ll call Ashland to accept his offer of dinner in LA after all.

At Crimson Lights, Sally will talk to Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) about their successful plan. Sally will argue that when it comes to Summer Newman (Hunter King) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), one of them always ends up walking away anyway.

At The Grand Phoenix, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will bring his suitcase down and reveal to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) that he’s moving out.

Kyle will intend to move back in the Abbott house to be closer to Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez). “And his mom?” Phyllis will ask.

Kyle will wonder what that’s supposed to mean, but Phyllis will apologize and act like she didn’t mean it the way it sounded.

When Jack appears, Kyle will insist he intends to focus on work and his son before storming out. That’ll leave Jack to ask Phyllis why Summer really left town.

Phyllis will insist that even if there were other factors, it doesn’t matter. She’ll rant about the situation being unfair to Summer and won’t blame her daughter for taking an incredible job in Italy to extricate herself from the mess.

Phyllis will take a jab about Jack bringing that mess into his home, but he’ll insist Kyle’s committed to co-parenting with Tara.

Jack will be willing to see this from Summer’s perspective, but he won’t pretend he’s anything less than thrilled to have his grandson living at the Abbott house.

Phyllis will settle down and praise Jack for his good heart. She’ll think it’s impressive that Jack never gets jaded and will launch a story about Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) before Jack cuts her off.

“I don’t really like talking with you about you and Nick,” Jack will admit. He’ll just acknowledge that love it all its forms is worth the risk.

When Kyle arrives at the Abbott mansion, he’ll find out from Tara that Harrison is already asleep. Tara will think it’s sweet that Kyle wants to check on his son and kiss him goodnight.

When Tara asks if there’s anything she can do for Kyle, he’ll be rather aloof as he pushes for alone time.

However, Kyle will apologize for being short with Tara when he gets back downstairs. He’ll talk about how hard it was to pack up the suite. Kyle will reflect on planning his future with Summer and struggling to believe all that’s over.

Since Kyle will be all talked out, Tara will bring up the idea of dinner and brownies in the kitchen. “Table for two please,” Kyle will say as he points at Tara. She’ll follow him and look hopeful that things are moving in the right direction.

Later, a courier will bring the custody agreement paperwork, which will be exactly as Ashland said it would be. Tara will hope that makes Kyle feel a little better, so Kyle will admit it’s great news. “For Harrison and for us,” Kyle will insist.

Back at The Grand Phoenix, Sally will run into Jack and fill him in on Summer recommending her as the acting president of JCV. Sally will intend to prove herself in the position – and Jack will have no doubt about her ability.

As Phyllis lurks nearby, Sally will ask Jack to join her for a drink tonight. She’ll think they could call it a “maybe one day we can be friends again” drink.

Phyllis will come rushing over to tell Jack she needs to speak with him right away, so Sally will tell Jack she’ll be at Society if he wants to join.

Once Sally leaves, Phyllis will admit she was trying to stop Jack from doing what she thought he was about to do. Jack will argue that it’s his business whatever he decides to do with Sally and will leave in a hurry.

At the Chancellor mansion, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will want to surprise Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) with her favorite dessert from Society. Abby will offer to pick it up for Mariah, but she’ll see Stitch standing there when she opens the door.

Stitch will reveal that he brought a gift for the baby before Abby invites him in. After Stitch greets Mariah, he’ll find out the baby is a boy and that Chance Chancellor (last played by Donny Boaz) is away on a assignment.

Stitch will wonder when Chance is coming back, so Abby will insist it’s “soon, they hope!” When Stitch seeks confirmation that it’ll at least before the birth, Abby will feel certain Chance will be back by then.

Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will arrive next, so Abby will confess that he’s “a very big part of their very modern family.”

Stitch will find out Devon is the biological father of this baby off screen and congratulate him on his involvement. Talk will turn to Max Rayburn (Jared Breeze), so Stitch will admit his son doesn’t really recognize him anymore.

Abby will be so sorry, but Stitch will think he’d better take off for the retirement party.

After Stitch invites Abby to come, he’ll admit he hates going to these things alone. Mariah will flash a look like the invitation is strange, but Stitch won’t seem to notice.

Even so, Stitch will come to the conclusion on his own that it was probably out of line to ask.

Abby will assure Stitch that it was fine, but she’ll have to pass. Stitch will understand and congratulate everyone again before he leaves.

Once Mariah’s alone with Abby and Devon, she’ll think it’s a little weird how Stitch just showed up out of the blue and invited Abby to a party.

Abby will act like Stitch is just overwhelmed being back in his old town where everything went wrong. Mariah will suggest maybe she’s just being edgy before she leaves to check on the supplies at Crimson Lights for Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case).

After Mariah exits, Devon will ask Abby if seeing Stich hit harder than she’s letting on. Abby will admit she has a lot of guilt when it comes to Stitch, but Devon won’t think she has anything to feel guilty about.

Abby will argue that things were difficult with Stitch, but aside from being apart things have been easy with Chance.

Devon won’t be as certain about that and will bring up Chance getting shot before developing an infection – one that prevented him from being able to father a child.

Devon won’t want Abby to blame herself just because she had bad luck with Stitch. Abby will assure Devon that she’s happy and keeping the faith that Chance will return home soon. Later, Abby will fill Victor in on Stitch’s visit when he stops by.

When Abby wishes there was something she could do to help her sad ex, Victor will suggest maybe she already did by helping him reminisce about the good times.

He’ll think Abby would’ve had every right to turn Stitch away due to the bad memories, but Abby will insist she couldn’t have done that to him.

At the coffeehouse, Mariah will bump into Stitch again since he left the retirement party early. She’ll urge Stitch to spill what else is going on in his life, but he’ll admit it’s just work and checking on Max.

Mariah will wish Stitch a safe flight back to Iowa City before she heads out, so Stitch will sigh and look lost in thought.

At Society, Sally will look glum until Jack finally joins her at the bar. “Just one drink,” Jack will say as they exchange smiles. We’ll provide updates as other Y&R news becomes available.

The Young and the Restless spoilers say Sally’s playing with fire since she’s keeping such huge secrets, so stay tuned to see when she’ll get burned!
