The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Tuesday, September 21, tease that Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) looming death will derail his hush money arrangement. Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) will want a lump sum now since he won’t know how much longer Ashland can keep making the payments they agreed upon.
We should note that Gaines’ casting announcement referred to him as Jesse, but SOD’s latest issue suggests that his first name is Gerard. It doesn’t really matter since it seems this guy goes by Gaines anyway – plus, Ashland owes him money no matter what you want to call him!
The point is Gaines has been keeping a terrible secret under wraps for quite some time.
In exchange for his silence, Ashland has been making regular payments to satisfy this ruthless attorney. He won’t be pleased when Gaines wants to adjust the terms of their deal, but Gaines will think it’s fair since Ashland has a terminal illness.
Gaines was expecting many more years of payments, but that won’t be possible once Ashland’s dead. That’s why Gaines will suggest a simple solution.
Y&R spoilers say Gaines will blackmail Ashland for $3 million cash – and he’ll insist he must have it all by tonight.
Ashland will fume over Gaines’ new demand, but there won’t be much he can do about it. Gaines is calling the shots since he knows the buried secret Ashland’s been keeping.
Of course, Gaines will urge Ashland to look on the bright side since he’ll vow to go away forever if he gets the money.
However, Ashland will worry this won’t truly be the end of it. He’ll fear more demands, which could be a sign that Ashland’s faking his terminal illness.
Perhaps Ashland will know he’ll still have to pay more when he doesn’t die early as expected. Regardless, Ashland will mull over his options and won’t like any of them!
As for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), he’ll create a bit of a guessing game for Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson).
Billy may not be able to get a film grip on where his sort-of ally stands since Nick doesn’t trust Ashland, but he doesn’t want to push Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) too hard either.
Meanwhile, Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will tell Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) that having a baby of their own is the way forward.
From Mariah’s perspective, this will be the perfect plan to heal after losing Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor.
Mariah will feel like she can transfer her maternal feelings to a more appropriate baby, but Tessa will push her to slow down and think about this. The timing is all wrong – and Mariah can’t use another baby to forget about Dominic.
Mariah just wants to rush through what’s essentially a grieving process, but that’s not going to work.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Mariah will change her mind about something on Tuesday’s episode, so that could mean Tessa will help her see the light.
On the other hand, Mariah might change her mind about staying away from Dominic. It could become too hard to cope, so we’ll just have to see where Mariah’s messy emotions lead her next!
