The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Tuesday, August 17, teases that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will make a power play while Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) faces an unexpected Newman battle. Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) will also find an ally as he copes with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) big move, so let’s talk about what’s in store.
Victor has been over the moon to see Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) getting along.
Nick and Adam are starting to seem like actual brothers instead of enemies who can barely tolerate each other, so they’ve made great strides in their relationship.
Victor feels like Adam and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) could make similar progress if they’d just put some work into it.
Since Victoria and Adam haven’t taken the hint, Victor will try to force the issue on Tuesday, August 17. He’ll bring Victoria and Adam together to push for a truce – and he’ll make it an order!
Victor will take charge of the situation and hope he’s still got enough power within the family to influence his children.
It’s clear that Victor and Victoria’s relationship could use some work as well, but Victor will focus on her bond with Adam for now.
In the end, Adam and Victoria may relent on a truce just to shut Victor up! Victor isn’t going to let this go, so Victoria and Adam would be better off at least trying to give him what he wants.
As for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), she’ll corner Sally at the coffeehouse and surprise her with a vicious threat. Nikki will rant about Sally’s treatment of Summer Newman (Hunter King), but Sally may not see the problem.
Summer has an impressive job and is living in a fabulous city with her back-on fiancé, so Sally may think Nikki should be thanking her.
However, Nikki might suggest this positive outcome is the only reason she’s threatening Sally instead of actually retaliating! She’d be doing far worse if Summer was still miserable.
Nikki will want Sally to understand that the Newmans are capable of anything when it comes to protecting their loved ones. Victor has done his fair share of damage, but Nikki can do some damage of her own when she wants to.
Nikki will want Sally to keep that in mind and think twice before she ever crosses another Newman family member.
Jack will also find an ally who can offer some wise words – and Y&R spoilers say that ally will be Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman).
Lauren and Jack may commiserate over getting taken for a ride by Sally, who fooled them with her charm and moxie.
Jack will be glad things worked out for Kyle, who reunited with Summer and will soon be raising Harrison in Milan with her.
Still, it’ll be hard for Jack to say goodbye and let go. Lauren might be able to help Jack since her own son, Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker), doesn’t live in Genoa City either.
Perhaps Lauren will remind Jack that there are always visits to look forward to.
The important thing is that their kids are happy and healthy, so Lauren and Jack can count their blessings in that department.
