The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, May 17, teases that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will predict Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) cheating again while Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) blames Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) for destroying her life.
At Crimson Lights, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) will make a sweet speech and accept some responsibility for what went wrong in his marriage to Sharon. Rey will now understand that his own obsession was part of the problem and will regret getting so caught up in his resentment of Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
After Rey asks for forgiveness, Sharon will do the same since she ignored the boundaries she tried to set and made Rey doubt her commitment to him. Rey will eventually agree to move back in, so this couple will be back together and looking to the future once again.
At Adam’s penthouse, Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) will have a bone to pick since Chelsea is stuck at a psychiatric hospital while Adam’s roaming free again.
Adam will suggest he wasn’t responsible for having Chelsea locked up, but he’ll think it’s good that she’s getting the help she needs.
Once Adam opens up about his regret for how he treated Chelsea, Chloe will struggle to buy that he has actual remorse. Besides, Chloe won’t think it’s going Chelsea much good now that she’s locked up in a mental institution.
Chloe won’t want Adam anywhere near Chelsea, but he’ll basically threaten to make sure she goes down as Chelsea’s accomplice if she tries to keep him away.
After Chloe exits, Adam will give the mental health facility where Chelsea’s staying a call. He’ll almost ask for info on a new patient there, but he’ll change his mind in the end and disconnect.
Adam will also spend some time looking at Chelsea and Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) photo as he reflects on how sorry he is.
Over with Chelsea, she’ll keep up her mental breakdown act when Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) arrives hoping to get a recorded statement. Chelsea will seem unhinged as she argues it won’t matter since Adam always wins.
Chelsea will complain about Adam kidnapping and drugging her before – and then she’ll claim she’s too tired to continue this discussion.
Chelsea’s attorney will be in on the deception and will seem pleased that Chelsea didn’t give Michael the statement he wanted. Nevertheless, Michael will plan to return and will want Chelsea to try writing things out in case that might be easier.
Once Chelsea’s alone with her vengeful thoughts, she’ll blame Sharon for destroying her life.
At Kyle and Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) engagement party, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) will greet Kyle at Tara Locke’s (Elizabeth Leiner) urging. Tara will plead for a conversation, so Kyle will agree to meet up with her at The Grand Phoenix.
Summer will pull Kyle aside to question him about Tara’s arrival with Harrison. They’ll mull over why Tara would come all this way and bring Harrison before Summer decides they need to deal with this now.
Summer will excuse them from the engagement bash and take off with Kyle, who’ll corner Tara in the hotel lobby soon after.
Tara will push to speak with Kyle privately, so Summer will assure her fiancé that it’s OK. Once Tara’s in Kyle’s suite, she’ll come clean about a total disaster happening.
Tara will note that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) pretended to forgive Tara in advance for any confession she might make. Ashland acted like he was a hard person to live with and assured Tara that he wouldn’t blame her for straying.
Since Ashland had seemingly become a gentler man following his heart attack, Tara bought his act and confessed to her affair with Kyle. Ashland blew his top afterward and reverted to his cold true form.
Since Ashland threatened to have Tara declared an unfit mother and vowed to take Harrison away, Tara bolted for Genoa City and came to Kyle as the only person in the position to help.
Harrison will be with his nanny while this discussion’s happening, but Tara will want Kyle to help her hide out for a bit with their son. She’ll be a mess as she tries to figure out the next step and will push Kyle to do this for Harrison if he won’t do it for her.
Down in the lobby on Monday’s Y&R episode, Summer will accuse Sally of sending Tara to blow up the engagement bash. Sally will counter that she simply helped Tara find Kyle due to her apparent emergency.
After Sally makes a comment implying that Summer should fear a betrayal, she’ll add “once a cheater, always a cheater” – as the old saying goes. Summer will smack Sally hard across the face, but Sally will guess the truth hurts!
Meanwhile, there’ll be plenty of chatter amongst all the guests at the engagement party about who Tara is and what she wanted. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will sense that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is holding out on him, so he’ll push her to come clean since he’ll be awfully concerned about Summer.
